Matt is in his first year as Head Coach at Brookside. He began his coaching career at Chestnut Run where he spent two years as assistant coach and two years as Head Coach.
Matt began his swim career at the age of f as a Chestnut Run Stingray and has been involved in the sport ever since. Aside from his summer swim experience, he also swam year-round for Greater Philadelphia Aquatics club (GPAC) for 5 years. Swimming continued in high school where he appeared for multiple State meets for Woodstown High School. His favorite events included the 50 and 100 Breast, as well as the 50 Free.
While traveling with GPAC and Woodstown High School swim was rewarding, there was nothing more fun and impactful than Tri-county swim. The atmosphere, the friends, and the competitive nature of it all kept him driven and involved long after his swim career was over.
Matt completed his degree in Physical Education and Health in December and looks forward to beginning his career as an educator and high school coach in the fall.
Having swam every event and having participated in almost every meet in the area, there is still nothing more rewarding than leading a team or individual to their goals in the sport and in life. Matt looks to be a positive influence to everyone he gets the pleasure of working with this summer.
