Spanish Flu ➵ 1918 Flu Pandemic

The Spanish Flu is an unusual deadly influenza pandemic caused by the H1N1

influenza A virus. It's also a virus that attacks the respiratory system. The Virus lasted

2 years, ( February 1918 - April 1920 )  infected about 500 million people. And at that time

that was about ⅓ of our world's population! Scientists now are still unsure of the Spanish Flu source. 50 million people have died from the Flu around the world. This Flu is very similar to the Coronavirus/Swine Flu.

The Coronavirus originated in China but the Spanish Flu originated in Spain then rapidly began to spread to other people around the world. The Spanish Flu was originated in Spain some people believed. Not only was it called Spanish Flu, it was also called the ‘Spanish Lady’. If you look up where the flu originated, some people still think it didn't originate in spain. But who knows? People believe the flu was caused by an North American Domestic or a wild bird. Harold Walker is also being blamed for bringing the Flu to Tampico in Mexico. Harold Walker was an American guy.

In virology, influenza A virus subtype H1N1 is a subtype of Influenza A virus. Well known outbreaks of H1N1 strains  in humans include the 2009 swine flu pandemic, as well as the

1918 flu pandemic. It is an orthomyxovirus that contains the glycoproteins haemagglutinin and neuraminidase.

Orthomyxovirus is extremely dangerous. One infected person can infect the whole world, it starts from him/her/it and goes around to other people. It can be caused by sneezes, coughs, exhaling because when you do that it leaves respiratory droplets and its being transmitted into the air, then anyone nearby can just inhale it to their system in their bodies and BOOM! +1 Another person has the Flu. People had to wear masks everywhere because of the Flu, just like now. There were piles of dead bodies at places and again there were 50 million people that were killed.

The 1918 pandemic flu is still alive today, it could spread one day but hope it won’t. The

Spanish Flu still remains deadly to us. The scientists haven’t found a cure for the Flu but pray that the Flu won’t bring itself back. Be cautious when you exhale, sneeze, or cough because who knows what kind of germ/virus or flu you have in you. The Flu is highly contagious watch out for large crowds of people!
