Presidents Message

Troy Bartz

With Spring approaching, we have many activities already populating a lot of space on the club’s calendar. It is shaping up to be a busy year for the club.

The annual Spring clean-up day is on Sunday April 22nd this year from 8:30 AM through the early afternoon. We have numerous projects and tasks lined up and lunch will be provided. Please save the date and help out if you can. If you have rakes shovels, wheelbarrows, or similar yard items and could share these items for a few hours, it would be appreciated. Work gloves would also be recommended.

We need volunteers for several committees and will also need volunteers throughout the year for numerous jobs, tasks, and responsibilities. Please contact me when you can commit some time to these endeavors. I would like to remind everyone that this is something every member agrees to do when they purchase a membership. Please review the club’s Constitution and Bylaws that are present on the website.

Elections for the board of directors is coming up in May. Nominations for this election are being accepted now. If you are interested in participating in the club at the board of directors’ level or know someone that is please send me an email with the nomination.

As we start into the new season, I would also like to take this opportunity to remind all members, that we have a monthly meeting that takes place on the third Monday of every month at 6:00PM. All members and the public are welcome to attend. Please bring any club concerns to the board meeting or if you cannot make a meeting, please send me an email. I will respond to all emails and add items/issues to the agenda as appropriate. The meetings are also a good way to stay informed of what is happening.

On behalf of the Board of Directors I hope you and your family a safe, healthy, and prosperous year.

This gun club belongs to all of the members and is run by a Board of Directors. There are 15 board members, each with a 3 year term, 5 of which are elected every year. The board meets on the 3rd Monday of every month at 6 pm and meetings are always open to the general membership.

We are looking for some members to become more involved and help with the future of the club. We have several open seats to fill this year.  The next 2 board meetings are nominations and elections. This is the best way to have your voice heard and the club steered in the direction to best serve it's members.

We need your help for the Spring Clean Up at the club on April 22! - POSTPONED!!

Some of you might not know what HPDS stands for and what we do at the club. Hollow Point Defensive Shooters was founded in 2011 and has grown every year since. We shoot and train with handguns as used in defensive situations.

Safety and shooting safely is our highest priority.  We have certified Safety Officers at every event. We offer trainings all summer on the 1st Saturday from 8 to 12. We cover everything from the basic handgun safety, to drawing your weapon, shooting on the move, using concealment and cover, as well as shooting reactive targets.

On the 3rd Saturday of every month we hold "International Defensive Pistol Association" (IDPA) matches from 8-2.

Each stage is unique and tests skills, accuracy and speed as you shoot the course of fire.

Our club is represented at the State IPDA match every year as well.

There is more information at www.hollowpointshooters.org or just stop by one of our events and see for yourself.

Cost to join this club is only $20/year.  You can attend as many or as few of the events as you like.

Recent Donations

The board of directors would like to extend our gratitude to John Kinsler. John attended a recent board meeting, where he learned the club was looking for a radar gun to measure the accuracy of our clay targets for trap and skeet.  John was kind enough to donate a radar gun to the club.  Thanks John!!!
