III. Updates

- Indiginous people day is on Monday if you are volunteering be there at 10:30 to help set up please ask for sign up if you want to volunteer
- Attempting to do more self care involved projects within IESC as the year progresses

- Contacting dungeon and dragons; got the contact info since last weeks meeting
- Idea to do workshops for IESC members to better communicate and fulfill their duties

- Meeting got postponed until Friday this week or next week
- Geoscience Department
- In contact to help outreach with Paige's project
- Paige has a member already helping it is Kendra Keiser
- She could be separate from student organization checking into reaching out to them separately
- Zeda reached out
- They want IESC to help with their meetings/trainings
- There will be an invite sent out to help review their presentation and give them feedback
- The Arbiter wants a comment from IESC about President Biden's Latin education initiatives
- Grace is doing this interview Thursday
- She will be referencing what other universities and our own have done for latin students
- Resiliency Room Task
- Need to go in and make a list of the objects that are in there to write signage for
- Ro has taken a lot of pictures of the items already and will be sharing a google doc
- Paige motions to amend the agenda to include resiliency room in new business, seconded by Jasmine

IV. New Business
- Finishing Resiliency Room Statement
- Discussing any more edits to this statement since last we discussed
- General consensus that the wording we discussed last week is satisfactory
- They have not gotten feedback from students who helped develop the room on whether their names can be put on the plague. Will be reaching out this week to find out
- May put names on plague they would be separate from the statement
- A member wants to change student lead to IESC
- Decided to not do this due to the fact that the Muslim student association was a big part of this as well
- Decided to instead add a sentence including specific organizations at the bottom- asking Brent about how to get this done
- Agree to present this as the final statement to Brent
- Continuing Coalition Building Outreach
- Is there a list of the people to reach out to?
- Paige is sharing the drive with this list in it
- Including staff faculty and student organization contact information
- Everyone will pick a student organization or two to reach out to in the next week
- Everyone will be sent an email template for everyone to use for contacting these groups
- Deciding who will reach out to which clubs/organizations and coordinating to get a broader reach
- ASA, Tri Delta, Dungeons and Broncos, any organization that is interested
- When will meet and greet happen?
- Paige reaching out to everyone to find a consistent time to meet by the end of October
- Brainstorm next steps if there is higher than expected attendance and let Paige or Grace know
- Ideas on how to get the word out about this project
- Getting together to plan this to make the outreach effort more cohesive
- Scheduling a separate meeting for this projects details

- Girisha will be running the social media with help of Grace, Jasmine, and Kallee
- Adding a weekly post to the story on social media

- Follow outline for posts on what is happening within IESC
- Starting on indiginous day post to help with promotion of the event
- Maybe domestic violence or hispanic heritage month posts
V. Open Floor/Announcements
- Rotating Meeting Leadership
- Rotate who posts agenda by Friday not Grace every week
- Lost on the specifics of the agenda creation and timeline email Ethics Officer with any questions
- Agendas need to be finalized by 12pm Fridays
- Deadline for agenda to be on the website is Monday at 9am
- Fixing the template for the agenda
- Amaia will work with Grace to fix template
- Kallee will run the next meeting
- Mepa is meeting at 5pm tonight
- one person from IESC will attend this meeting tonight
- Kallee will do a jam board in committee meeting tonight
- Anti-Racism center is something that might be worked with in the future so maybe IESC should help with their current efforts
- Their meeting is tonight if you want to go
- Mayor's office wanted to know if they could help promote for Indiginous peoples day
- Do the planners want a proclamation from the mayor and for the mayor to convey this at the event
- Acknowledging this day for the city of Boise, even though they are not sponsoring this event
- This event is not a good way to deliver a proclamation
- Francisco will connect the mayor's office with Ro and Kallee to continue this conversation
