Brentwood School District Fall 2020 Semester
Frequently Asked Questions
- How long will the district remain closed?
Brentwood School District buildings will be closed through the end of the 2019-2020 School Year. The district will continue its virtual learning program during this time. School districts throughout the St. Louis region have met with local health experts to determine the best course of action for the health and safety of our community. Together, we’ve come to the conclusion that in the interests of our students, staff, and community at large, it is best to finish the year via virtual learning. - What about events and activities?
To align with the advice of health experts and social distancing orders, all events and activities scheduled for the rest of the semester are also cancelled.
- What about BHS seniors and graduation?
The district remains committed to celebrating our talented and diverse group of students in the Class of 2020. Brentwood High staff are developing plans to host graduation and other events later in the summer, but the uncertainty of when social distancing orders will be lifted means we are exploring virtual options as well. Please see this letter from Dr. Johnson for more information about the class of 2020.
- How will grading and report cards work?
Please see this document to see how the district will approach grading from grades K-12.
- Will the meal service continue at Mark Twain for the rest of the semester?
The district is committed to providing meals to students under the age of 18. Our meal service pickup is currently taking place on Mondays and Wednesdays at Mark Twain. More information and other meal resources can be found on our COVID-19 information page.
