Bird Call and Card Matching

Materials Needed:

Bird Nomenclature Cards

Corresponding Sound Files for each bird

  1. If needed, review the names of the birds.
  2. Hold up one of the cards, and play the corresponding bird call.
  3. Continue with 2 more cards and sounds.
  4. Play a short game using just the 3 cards/sounds, by playing one of the sounds and having the child hold up the matching card.
  5. When the child is able to correctly match the cards and sounds, add a couple more at a time.
  6. Continue according to the child’s interest.
  7. Can add bird calls as ringtones/text alerts/alarms on devices to see if the child can recall them once the initial lesson is done.
