Arts & Crafts (K-4)
Do you like making crafts out of ordinary household items? Do you like getting messy and creative? Then this year’s Arts and Crafts class is perfect for you! If you like using your imagination and don’t mind getting your hands dirty, this class is everything you’ve been looking for! Come join us as we make summer-themed crafts that you'll want to keep for years to come!
Clay Creations (K-8)
Come be inspired with clay! Each week will offer unique projects from designing your own pots and sculptures, to making clay items to hang. We will create animals, monsters, and more! We will also paint our creations once they are dry! Don’t miss out on making 3-D art while using a variety of clay, tools and techniques! Come catch the clay craze!
Computer Graphics & Design (K-8)
Let’s have some fun creating art on the computer! In this class you will have the opportunity to make designs which you can place in stationary, on cards or even create iron-ons for your clothes and backpacks! Students will gain new computer skills while creating art! Join us and bring your artistic spirit as you make your very own graphic designs!
Creative Gaming (K-4)
If you like playing games and working cooperatively with other students then you will love this course. Not only will you get to try classic board games such as Uno and Life but you will be able to play air hockey, knock hockey and other tried and true family favorites. If you feel inspired you may invent your very own games to try out with your fellow classmates. If you want to stretch your imaginative spirit, join us for a creative gaming adventure.
Discover Science (K-8)
Students will explore basic science principles in this engaging hands-on class. Through STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) activities we will investigate, observe, and problem solve! Each day, participants will perform an experiment or participate in an activity to enhance their knowledge of the world. Using many ordinary household materials, we will discover the science behind slime, oobleck, bubbles, play-doh, parachutes, catapults, and more! Join us and discover just how cool Science can be!
Everything Zen (5-8) New this year - just for students in grades 5-8
Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Reiki. These three ancient and powerful practices have been the main foundation of Eastern medicine for thousands of years. Combining these three practices, students will become aware of and rid their body and mind of any tension, worry, or stress. Students will learn to calm their mind, improve their focus and concentration, gain mental clarity, and generally improve their lives in ALL areas. Learn these important meditative skills that you can use for the rest of your life. Join me this summer for an AMAZING and CENTERED adventure!
Games of Strategy (5-8) New this year - just for students in grades 5-8
Are you a strategist? You know, someone who likes a good challenge. Then this is the class for you! Come and learn the basics of chess, checkers, card games, and coding. In this fun course, we will spend time each day exploring different strategy-based games and activities. We will warm up with riddles and puzzles and face-off against each other in gameplay. At the end of each week, we will put our knowledge to good use by tackling an escape room challenge. No experience is needed, so come learn and play!
iBuild with Legos (K-8) New this year - includes K & 1!
Do you like a good challenge? Are you someone who can figure out, fix, or solve problems? Do you like to design, construct and play with blocks, Legos and K'Nex? If so, then this is the class for you! In this STEAM-based class (science, technology, engineering, art, & mathematics) we offer hands-on problem solving, where you will be presented with a daily building challenge using various building sets. So, strap on your thinking cap and jump into the world of i-Build!
Jam Out! (K-4)
(Must have parental media release approval)Do you always find yourself singing along with songs on the radio? How about playing the air guitar, beatboxing, keeping a beat with your foot, or making up rhythms on your lap with your hands? Or do you already play an instrument? If you like to jam with songs on the radio, you'll love to join in the fun in Jam Out!. Each week we'll pick a song to play along with using our classroom instruments and our voices - just like Jimmy Fallon and the Roots!
Jewelry Making for the Fashionista (K-8)
Do you love jewelry? Well, in this class you will be able to make your very own fashion accessories! Each week we will explore a new method of jewelry making to create bracelets, earrings, necklaces, and more using a variety of materials such as gems, crystals, metal, and safety pins. So bring out your inner fashionista and create amazing jewelry for yourself or your friends and family!
Just Dance (K-8)
Do you enjoy listening to popular songs on the radio? Does music get you moving? Then this is the class for you! It doesn't matter if you’ve been dancing for years or never set foot on the floor before. Each week, Mrs. Trump, a professional dancer with over ten years teaching experience, will have you performing a new routine. Let Mrs. Trump share her love of dance with you! Come out and just dance!!
Lights, Camera… Action (K-8)
Calling all actors, actresses, and comedians! Do you like making up your own commercials, skits or TV shows? In this course you will create funny scenes with props and costumes! At the end of each week, you will have an awesome video of your performance to share with your family. This class is open to all creative students who like to make people laugh. Come and shine like a star!
Master Chef (K-8)
This exciting course is the perfect way to introduce young chefs to a culinary adventure. Throughout this course, students will tour a different country each week with their peers. They will learn what foods are native to the region and cook some favorite culinary delights from that country! Students will learn how to read and follow a recipe as well as learn different cooking techniques. Best of all, they will sample all of their wonderful cooking. (Allergy forms must be filled out and handed in on the first day of class.)
Musical Theatre (5-8) New this year - just for students in grades 5-8
We will work on different aspects of theatre to improve on skills used for live performances. We will work on character development, improvisation, projection and diction, prepare a short scene or monologue to present, and how to prepare for an audition!
Picture Perfect Painting (K-8)
Are you a budding Picasso or an aspiring Monet? Do you like art and want to experiment with paint? If so this class is for you! In this exciting course students get to learn about famous painters and try different types of paints, styles and techniques. So pick up a brush and palette and let your artistic abilities shine!
P.L.A.Y. (K-8)
"Physical & Leisure Activities for the Young" is an energizing course where you can have fun and stay fit. Through indoor & outdoor sports and games such as Soccer, Kickball, Noodle Tag, Four Corners, Snow Castles and more!!!! Participants will have the time of their lives! Games are modified for children in the younger grades. So, come learn teamwork, cooperation, and self-expression while being physically active. It's time to P.L.A.Y.!!!
Teen Adventures (6-8)
Let the adventure begin! This course prepares Counselors-In-Training (CITs) to become future volunteers for Summer Fun. CITs will engage in a team-based, problem-solving adventure incorporating technology and creative thinking. Additionally, students will engage in SEL based yoga/mindfulness/meditation practices geared towards the lives of middle school students. The class runs for the entire day (all 4 periods). Teens will be enrolled in two periods of training with two periods of enrichment courses. Enrichment periods will be filled with courses geared specifically to middle school students.
Trash to Treasure (K-4)
Do you like to build things? Are you creative? Then his class is for you. Every week we will make art from materials found in your very own home. We will go on scavenger hunts to find recyclable materials that we can craft into amazing masterpieces. We will build robots, animals, collages, keepsake boxes, bridges and more. Come ready to turn your trash into treasure! If this class is for you, start saving recyclable materials such as paper towel rolls, plastic yogurt containers, bottle tops, bubble wrap, boxes, paper bags, colorful snack wrappers and any other materials you think you can build with.
World Travelers (K-4) New course for 2024!
Bon voyage! All aboard to the World Travelers Club! Every day, we will travel the globe to learn about different countries and their cultures and geographical features. While creating imaginative crafts and making delectable, healthy snacks that represent the fascinating facts and the traits of the countries we study, we will also conduct research to find entertaining and interesting information. We will have insightful conversations, gain new knowledge, and form friendships all while creating a stronger sense of belonging. Pack your bags and join us in this awesome experience!
Yoga-tastics (K-4)
This fun-filled, energetic class blends active movement with mindful moments. Challenge your imagination through creative movements, storytelling sequences, fun games, and partner poses. You will build stability, increase flexibility, and strengthen your body as you learn how to focus through breathing and relaxation techniques. Namaste!
