We are happy to congratulate EWG Junior Hannah Rae.  Earlier this week, Hannah travelled to Orlando,  Florida to participate in the All-National Honors Orchestra!  More than 2,000 students auditioned from all 50 states, and she was one of  122 students selected for the Orchestra.  Hannah worked with famed Haitian conductor Dr. Jean Montês, and was the only Rhode Islander selected to perform in the Orchestra.  Only 5 Rhode Islanders were selected at all: 2 on guitar, 1 vocalist, and another French Horn player.  Hanna’s acceptance was based on a competitive recorded audition last year, and she spent nearly 20 hours in rehearsal on Monday and Tuesday, presenting an amazing final concert yesterday.  Congratulations, Hannah, this amazing achievement!

Dear Families of Exeter-West Greenwich,

Do you still have a bookshelf filled with story books that your children looked as preschoolers and kindergarteners, but have now outgrown? Not sure where they can find a new home? Wawaloam School will take them!

As part of a Literacy Initiative at Wawaloam School, I am looking for very gently used story books for our Kindergarten students. These books will be used to allow students to enjoy nightly reading at home. The more books that we have, the more choice the children will have in finding new favorites.

You may deliver the books directly to Wawaloam School, or there will be boxes placed at each school near the front office to collect donations. Thank you in advance!
