Welcome
Chair Sadie Cunningham welcomed all council members to the meeting.
Update: Digital Speed Sign
Principal Wohlforth updated the Community Council on the digital speed sign for Main Street. Lynn Ingram, county road superintendent, is getting bids and researching the laws for placement of the sign.
2016 School Land Trust Implementation
The 2016 School Land Trust has been implemented with no changes from how the Community Council had written and approved it.
The 2017-2018 school year trustland plan needs to be written and approved. The projected amount for Mona Elementary is $62,540. Principal Wohlforth introduced to the SCC some of the items that have typically been written into Mona Elementary’s trustland plan. Some of those items include: music; art; aides; and teacher professional development. The staff at Mona Elementary also gave ideas for the increase of funding in these categories, as well as possible beginning a school chorus, a homework club, language club, and additional technology. At the Feb. 2017 meeting the SCC will discuss their priorities and dollar amounts for the 2017-2018 plans.
