Description:

The aim of the center is creating comfortable public garden, improving environment, growing food , maximizing waste recycling, conducting research, training and education courses.

The garden was established in March 2015. It was designed according to permaculture zones and sectors and with the following permaculture elements: wind turbines, pergola tunnel, raised beds, small forest garden, mulching. Rainwater is collected, and gray waters management system is under construction, workshops for efficient training in small groups are organized.

Elements and management methods in use:

mulching, mixed planting, windbreak, warm Rozum beds, hugel beds, energy plants, natural farming (by Fukuoka), rainwater harvesting, keyline design, greywater management

Earth berm - windbreak was created to divert wind into pergola-tunnel for ventilation and cooling during hot season. The berm was planted with trees, bushes, medicinal herbs and green manure plants.
Pergolla-tunnel is covered with grape, actinidia, brambles and underplanted with currants, gooseberries, vegetables and medicinal plants creating self-supporting assemblage (designer’s solution)
Insect hotels are installed and monitored
water is harvested from the roof, bore was dug
Since 2017 experiment has been conducting to monitor soil fertility under V. Rosum bed system
Mutually supporting plant guild is established on the raised beds.
Graywater purification system is under construction

Solutions for functional integration of the elements:

Garden is based on the basic principles: People Care, Earth Care, and the Return of Surpluses for the fullest possible functioning in harmony with nature

Zoning and object placement according to sectors:

During the observation and planning we divided the garden into 4 zones:

1, 3- where we spend the most time (training room, public garden, paths, greenhouse, shed)

2 - small forest garden, intensive garden and orchard

4 - rarely visited place for wild nature (pine forest behind the fence)

Accepting visitors: by appointment, self visit is possible, optional sightseeing tour

Accepting volunteers: from March to October, accomodation in the guest house or own tent, food is paid or bring food with you.
