Yes, everyone who participates in a league or a class must have a valid membership. There are many perks to the KEVA membership including eligibility for our programs, access to the facility during Member Play hours, Member Appreciation days and tournaments, and discounts to partner companies!
Depending on the child’s age, the multi-sport class will be the best place to start. The parent can see which sports the child is more drawn to and can enroll them in a sport specific class or a team time class. All classes are designed to teach skills for all abilities. An adult is required to participate with the child in all multi-sport classes (with the exception of the 4-5 year old class).
Contact KEVA for a full explanation of all classes.
Most parents wear a harness the baby can sit in while the adult helps the participating child with the class. If the child is a little bit older and is crawling or walking, that is also okay. As long as the guardian is able to interact with the child who is participating in the class as needed, very young siblings are rarely an issue.
The more the merrier! As long as there is an adult present for the children enrolled in the class, it will be great! A nanny, grandparent, or guardian can also bring the child as long as someone is with them at all times.
Most of the kids have no problem going into a class without mom or dad. There are a few that are a little more shy. The parents are always welcome to participate in the class for the first few minutes or maybe the first few classes until the child becomes more comfortable. The parents can also sit by the wall during the class and be in the same area as the child. The goal is to make this a great experience for the child and for him/her to have fun! If the child is 4 years old or younger, and they don’t want to do a class without the parent, they can switch to a parent-participation multi-sport class as well. We do not have a parent-participation class option for children 5 years and older.
While there are no equipment requirements, we recommend that children should wear something comfortable to class because there is a lot of movement involved. Running shoes are often helpful. We also encourage a change of shoes in winter if the children are wearing boots. They can make activities very difficult for the child.
A parent or a guardian is required to stay for the 2-4 year old multi-sport classes. All other classes can be drop off classes if parents need to run errands or other activities; however, it is required that the parent on file is reachable during this time in case of emergencies. KEVA is not responsible for children after class is over, so parents should plan accordingly. We do offer free WIFI and a playground for siblings to use during class.
KEVA has two water fountains and each class includes a drink break. Participants may also bring a small water bottle. Our concession area also sells water bottles if you would like an individual drink and do not have a sealed water bottle.
No. No food carry-ins are allowed at KEVA. KEVA has a food and beverage area with a full menu, including a children’s menu. Baby snacks are allowed.
Payment is required upon registration and is the only way to reserve your child’s spot in the class. You can make your payment over the phone or online with a credit card, or you can pay with card, check, cash, or Google/Apple pay by stopping by the front desk in person.
It is recommended to register early to guarantee your spot and take advantage of the early bird discount.
Yes, as long as there are spots available in the class. KEVA will also prorate the cost of the class based on how many classes remain. If fewer than half the classes are remaining, approval by the Youth Sports Director is required.
Some classes are not as easy to join mid-session as the lessons build on each other and missing some makes it difficult for the participant. Speak with the Youth Department if this is the case to find if a mis-session registration is the best idea.
Yes. KEVA will prorate the cost of the class if this information is known at the time of registration. Must be mentioned before payment is taken. We are unable to refund for missed classes once registration has occurred. Â
KEVA does offer make-up classes. Each child is allowed only two make-up classes per session. If the same class is offered later in the week, members should attend that class and speak with the instructor of the new class when they arrive. KEVA does not give refunds/credits for classes missed due to illnesses unless the illness causes the child to miss more than three classes in a single session and a Doctor’s note is provided.
One free trial class is offered per child. Contact the Youth Director to set up your free trial class. This includes classes of various sports. Though the specifics that are taught are different, the class flow and process is the same. Multiple trials per child are not necessary to determine if this format is a good fit for the child.
This matter is up to the discretion of the Youth Director. Please contact prior to registration to determine if this is possible.
Yes, there is a $10 sibling discount for each child enrolled after the first child for classes and camps. For example, if four siblings were signed up, there would be $30 in sibling discounts - no discount for the first child and a $10 discount for each sibling of the first child. The siblings must be enrolled in a program during the same session. To receive the discount, the registration for the siblings must be completed in the same transaction.
Though it is not guaranteed, it is frequently very possible. Please mention the friend request upon registration. Only one buddy request will be considered for any youth league program. Â
KEVA is handicap/wheelchair accessible. KEVA programs have assisted many children with special needs, however our programs are not designed specifically for special needs. Families who are looking to discuss accommodation should speak with the Youth Director to determine if the program is suited to your child’s needs.
Almost everyone at KEVA can help you sort through the different options and pick the best class for your child. The Youth Director is also a great resource to provide this information. Additional class information is always available on our website to help with your decision.
Yes, as long as there are still spots in the program you are generally able to register. Â The class cost can be prorated, if any classes have already occurred. Many classes do fill to capacity, however, and registering early is recommended. Classes are no longer available to sign up online after the classes have begun, and you will need to speak with a staff member to determine if there are still spots available.
The early bird deadline discount is not available after the deadline has passed. The classes are typically online and available for registration three or more months in advance of the deadline and the discount is meant to encourage early registration. Therefore, it is not available to any registrations made past the deadline.
No. KEVA classes are not offered the entire week of a holiday. Camps and or other programs may be offered, but classes are not held. See the youth classes page and select the appropriate session to find the dates of classes that are skipped.
