- At the General Meeting of March 27, 2025, information and a demo of the club’s Flex transceiver were provided. The slides used on the screen are here. Specific instructions in a “recipe” format can be found here. Both of these documents can also be found in a white binder on top of the Flex transceiver.
- Member Nick Frederick, W4NDF, has created a file for the Chirp programming software of repeaters and other useful frequencies in the Greater New Orleans area. This document provides information on how to use Nick’s file with the Chirp software.
- The club has replaced the transceiver in the “Red” station (the rightmost) with a new Yaesu FTDX-10. Club member Doug Eiserloh (WF5O) gave an overview of how to use this transceiver on Oct 24, 2024. The slides he used are here. The info for the transceiver at the Yaesu site is here. The Icom IC-7300 that was previously at the “Red” station is now at the “Yellow” station where it can be used or where you can still bring your own transceiver to use there with the club antennas.

- Talk by Mike Saladino - WB5LLI on his experiences using and getting acquainted with the sBitx radio, a very affordable radio designed for learning about SDR and based around a Raspberry Pi. General Interest
- Secure Your Ham Shack, presentation from our President, Chris Miltenberger, W5CMM, on how to keep your ham shack and other systems safe both physically and from hackers.
- Node-RED is IBM-created software that allows systems to be connected together without programming. It has been adopted by the ham community for integrating with many of the tools we use, like N1MM or WSJT-X. There is a good intro video here. There is an N1MM dashboard at the 10:22 mark.
