Daily Prayer Guide
Use Bible readings from a daily lectionary, from our annual Bible reading plan, or other combination that you choose.
Lord, open our lips and our mouth shall proclaim your praise
Read the Psalm for today
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit
As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be
World without end, Amen, Amen
Take a moment to center yourself in God's presence
Choose a verse from the Psalm and repeat it several times
Each time you read it, focus on a different word
What are the words your chose telling you about God?
What is this verse telling you about God?
Read the first reading for today
I believe in God the Father almighty
Maker of heaven and earth
And in Jesus Christ,
His only Son, our Lord
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
Born of the virgin Mary
Suffered under Pontius Pilate
Was crucified, dead, and buried
The third day He rose from the dead
He ascended into heaven
And sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father almighty
From thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead
I believe in the Holy Spirit
The holy catholic church
The communion of the saints
The forgiveness of sins,
The resurrection of the body,
And the life everlasting, Amen
Read the second reading for today
Take time to pray for individuals and situations that are on your prayer lists and on your heart
Our Father,
Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name
Thy kingdom come
They will be done
One earth, as it is in heaven
Give us this day, our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us
And lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil
For thine is the kingdom
And the power
And the glory forever, Amen
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ
and the love of God
and the Fellowship of the Holy Spirit
be with you now and forever, Amen
