• He is a God of sinners who are being made good!

• ‘Praise the Lord’ or ‘Hallelujah’ is reserved when praising God for the deliverance from the wicked

• It appears mainly in the Old Testament (Psa 103-118) and one chapter of the New Testament (Rev 19)

** The passages in the Psalms confirm that children are a blessing from the Lord and are created for a purpose

Psalm 112:2 NIV

[2] Their children will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed.

Psalm 127:3-5 NIV

[3] Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. [4] Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one's youth. [5] Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court.

Psalm 8:2,5-8 NIV

[2] Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger. [5] You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor. [6] You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their feet: [7] all flocks and herds, and the animals of the wild, [8] the birds in the sky, and the fish in the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas.

** God rewards those who give generously

Psalm 112:5 NIV

[5] Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely, who conduct their affairs with justice.

Psalm 112:9 NIV

[9] They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor, their righteousness endures forever; their horn will be lifted high in honor.

** In these days of increasing world crises, it is imperative we do not allow ourselves to be governed by fear but keep our eyes focused on the Lord

Psalm 56:3 NIV

[3] When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.

2 Samuel 22:29 NIV

[29] You, Lord, are my lamp; the Lord turns my darkness into light.

Proverbs 3:5 NIV

[5] Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding

Psalm 112:6-9 NIV

[6] Surely the righteous will never be shaken; they will be remembered forever. [7] They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord. [8] Their hearts are secure, they will have no fear; in the end they will look in triumph on their foes. [9] They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor, their righteousness endures forever; their horn will be lifted high in honor.

** The righteous do not need to fear the future for they trust in the Lord

Psalm 112:6-8 NIV

[6] Surely the righteous will never be shaken; they will be remembered forever. [7] They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord. [8] Their hearts are secure, they will have no fear; in the end they will look in triumph on their foes.
