COVID-19 is a type of coronavirus that is located in 50 countries as of the date of this information sheet. Our information on disease severity, transmission efficiency and shedding duration continues to evolve,  but at this time symptoms appear anywhere from 2 to 14 days after an exposure if one becomes symptomatic.

To help keep everyone safe and healthy at the conference we have implemented a few guidelines, resources and suggestions.

If you have the following symptoms, please stay at home and consider consulting your healthcare provider.

        *Fever and/or chills

        *Cough or respiratory distress

        *Shortness of breath

        *Sneezing

Bsides Seattle will refund your ticket if you need to stay at home with illness.

If you have only minor common cold symptoms and no fever, consider wearing a mask to contain any type of respiratory droplets.

Everyone should assume standard precautions against illness, not just COVID-19, and practice the following sanitary methods to stay healthy

*Consider getting a flu shot if you haven’t already

* Stay hydrated

* Wash hands with soap and lather for at least 20 seconds

* Use a 60-95% alcohol based hand sanitizer early and often

* Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth and be sure to wash hands thoroughly before eating.

Bsides Seattle will have several sanitation stations set up throughout the conference in the Events Center as well as the conference spaces. These stations will include hand sanitizer, sanitizing wipes for chairs or tables and nitrile gloves will be offered in lockpicking and hardware hacking areas if needed.

In addition, Bsides Seattle will not be using a buffet style lunch. To reduce risk, we are investigating pre-packaged box lunches from locations like Specialties. We will also be cleaning the common spaces throughout the day with hospital grade disinfectant.

If you are feeling ill and are in need of medical treatment, an urgent care is located less than 5 miles away from the conference and will be open during conference hours.
