Updated automatically every 5 minutes

Dear Parents and Guardians of P-CCS students,

Plymouth-Canton Community Schools is pleased to continue our 1-to-1 device program with the distribution of Chromebooks/iPads to students in the upcoming school year. Students currently eligible to participate in the 1-to-1 take-home program include all K through 12th grade students. Program participants will be issued an iPad (students in grades K-1), a touchscreen Chromebook (students in grades 2-5), or a non-touchscreen Chromebook (students in grades 6-12). All district-issued devices include an A/C power adapter and always-on case/shell.

SUMMER TAKE-HOME FOR STUDENTS IN GRADES 6-11

NEW for the 2025/26 School Year

To simplify the Chromebook Take-Home program and extend access for secondary students, those in grades 6-11 who participate will now keep their Chromebooks over the summer. This allows continuous access throughout the current school year, over the summer, and into the following school year, provided they meet the participation requirements by the first day of school. Previously, students were required to return their Chromebooks before the school year ended, unless they enrolled in the Summer Chromebook Retention Program. Families who prefer their student to not keep the Chromebook over the summer can update their selection to “Participate & Return Chromebook A Week Before Finals” in the Chromebook Take-Home Participation section of the Back to School Check-in or My Information in MISTAR by May 1. Any student who will no longer attend P-CCS must return their Chromebook, always-on case, and power adapter prior to leaving the district.

DEVICE PARTICIPATION

In order to participate in this program, there are four (4) steps you will need to take each year of participation.

  1. Resolve any/all outstanding technology-related debts.
  2. Review and select “We wish to participate” in the dropdown menu for the online P-CCS Chromebook/iPad Take-Home Participation Agreement form that can be found in Parent Connection (http://links.pccsk12.com/ParentConnection). For help, view this video, which is also linked on the Parent Connection login page: http://links.pccsk12.com/how2submitonlineCBagreement
  3. Choose ONLY ONE of the following liability options for a Chromebook/iPad:
Please note that we have renamed “Insurance” to “Accidental Damage Protection”.
  1. Accidental Damage Protection (ADP):  Non-refundable payment in the amount of $25 made through RevTrak at http://links.pccsk12.com/CBpremium. This needs to be paid each school year.
  1. Please note, there is a sliding scale for ADP for families with more than one student participating in device take-home.  First child - full premium ($25), second child - 65% premium ($16.25), additional children - free. Deductibles are still charged at the same per-incident rate.
  2. ADP Reduced/Waived due to income eligibility:  The P-CCS Board of Education has endorsed a policy that waives the cost of device ADP for families eligible for free priced meals with the National School Lunch Program, and reduces the cost of device ADP for families eligible for reduced priced meals with the National School Lunch Program. To apply for free/reduced benefits, visit https://links.pccsk12.com/benefits. Deductibles are still charged at the same per-incident rate.
  1. For the upcoming school year, the cost of ADP for students eligible for reduced-priced meals is $5 for the family’s first student participant, $2.50 for the family’s second student participant and free for additional students participating in the program. For participating students that are approved for reduced lunch, please select the appropriate payment option at http://links.pccsk12.com/reducedCBpremium.
  2. Students who have been approved for free lunch do not need to complete a payment option in Revtrak.
  1. In the event of accidental damage, theft or loss, there would also be a required deductible to cover the cost of repair/replacement. Student/Parent accepts responsibility for any/all ADP deductibles. In the event of accidental device damage or police-acknowledged theft, a deductible of $30 would be paid; in the event of loss with/without police report, a deductible of $100 would be paid. All participating families are also held financially responsible for any damaged or missing accessories. These ADP deductibles are fixed, regardless of lunch status or other circumstances.
  2. All ADP claims are subject to approval and may be rejected if the damage is determined to be intentional and/or if the device is removed from its always-on case/shell. If the claim is denied, the family is held financially responsible for the full cost of the repair/replacement needed.
  3. There is a limit of two (2) ADP claims permitted per student per school year. Following a second claim and the payment of its deductible, should a family wish to continue to have a device issued to their student, they are required to transition to the device deposit option.
  1. Refundable Deposit: $200 deposit made through RevTrak http://links.pccsk12.com/CBdeposit. Should the device/accessories become damaged, lost or stolen, funds up to the entire amount would be deducted from this deposit to address the cost of repair/replacement. Any funds remaining on deposit would be refunded after the device is returned. If the device/accessories are returned completely undamaged, the deposit in its entirety will be refunded.
  1. If you already have a $200 deposit on file, then there is no need to pay a second deposit.
  1. Keep district-issued device(s) in their always-on case/shell.
  1. Students are issued district Chromebooks/iPads in an always-on case/shell. This provides additional protection for district devices, which will significantly reduce the possibility of accidental damage. Taking a Chromebook/iPad out of the always-on case/shell can damage the case/shell and put the device at a greater risk of damage.
  1. District Chromebooks/iPads are expected to remain in their always-on case/shell at all times. Any student who removes his/her device from the always-on case/shell will be held responsible for the full cost of any and all repairs necessary to bring the Chromebook/iPad back to reissuable condition. In the case of students with ADP, these students will forfeit their ADP coverage if they choose to remove their device from the always-on case/shell.

Secondary students of families who do not complete the above steps will not be issued, nor have access to, a P-CCS 1:1 device. However, our instructional staff remain committed to meeting the learning needs of all students regardless of participation in the 1-to-1 device program.

Please note, throughout the multiyear 1:1 program, many district-issued devices assigned to students are not new and may not have a manufacturer warranty. Students and families have five (5) school days upon receipt of the device to report, by email, any pre-existing faults or defects to their school’s technology support team; otherwise, any issues reported or discovered afterwards will be covered by the deposit or ADP policy.

GOOGLE APPS FOR EDUCATION ACCOUNTS

The Plymouth-Canton Community Schools will be using Google Apps for Education (GAfE) to support our learning community in areas such as communication, productivity, collaboration and creativity.

Using these tools, students can collaboratively create, edit, and share files and websites for school related projects and communicate via email with other students and teachers. These services are entirely online and available 24/7 from any Internet-connected device. Examples of student use include showcasing class projects, building an electronic portfolio of school learning experiences, and working in small collaborative groups on presentations to share with others.

Google accounts are provided to all students regardless of 1:1 participation, and will have selective functionality within our pccsk12.com domain. Parents/Guardians have access to their students’ Google account usernames and passwords within MISTAR ParentConnect and can monitor and review their students’ use of these services. For the upcoming year, the Google Apps students will have access to include:

Google accounts are created for every P-CCS student.  If you prefer that we do not issue a Google Apps account to your student, please provide a dated note, including student name and ID number, requesting an OPT-OUT for the Google Apps for Education account. (Note that participants in the 1:1 program must have a District-assigned Google account in order to login to the District-assigned device.)

Please mail Google opt-out requests to:
