Merry Christmas! Well, we have made it through Advent, I know I am a few days early, as we have prepared for the Incarnation and second coming of our Lord. I hope all of you have fully participated in the Lenten Season as a softening of hearts has been focus. The invasion into the world of light, is the coming of Heaven into our world. We are to go forth as messengers of the word into the world. To help us to do this, the church reminds you of the seriousness of your calling. After having three Eucharist services for Christmas, we will honor and celebrate the first Christian Martyr St. Stephen, Dec. 26th, whose testimony of Christ is an example for all. The next day, Dec 27th, we celebrate St. John the Evangelist, the son of Zebedee and brother of James who taught us of the divine Logos, the word that was with God and that was (and is) God. Then on Dec. 28th, we remember all the children murdered by Herod who sent his men to kill all the men children that were in Bethlehem as he seeked to kill the newborn King, our Lord and Saviour. On January 1st, we celebrate the giving of the name, as given by an Angel, of JESUS. May our hearts be circumcised and mortified against the evil of the world. In the midst, we will celebrate the coming of the new year, with a Midnight Mass, at 11 pm, on New Years Eve. All of these events are to be had in joy and thanksgiving for all that we have received, especially in God’s “inestimable love in the redemption of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ.” May 2020 be a year that St. Michael’s shows forth our “unfeignedly” (wholehearted) thankfulness to Him and show forth our Praise for Him in all that we do.

A word to the many angels that do so much around the church
Saying “thank you” seems so lacking for my appreciation for all of you. I know that many are not capable of doing the manual labor stuff around the church, but even there, we have people reaching out as they best can. And the work and labor put in by those who are able is appreciated beyond my ability to express. This is one of the things that makes our little church “serve” well beyond our ability. The outreach of love for one another, and to visitors and new members, is a demonstration of the Holy Spirit working within our walls. I know, I complain about this and that, but I am so blessed to be here with each one of you. Our being one in Christ is shown in our love and support for one another. You are the very best, and I cannot even imagine the future blessings that are heading our way. May God’s Love and Peace be upon your families and upon our St. Michael’s family. Now, let’s get back to work!, Fr. Michael
