TUTORIAL SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE HAMILTON-WENHAM REGIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICT
The Hamilton-Wenham Regional School District recognizes that under certain circumstances students enrolled in the District may be eligible to receive tutorial services provided by the District. The District’s policy with respect to tutorial services is as follows:
1. The District will provide tutorial services in the following circumstances:
a. Any (regular or special education) student who is enrolled in the District or who has been placed by the District in a private educational program may receive tutorial services following the parent’s/student’s submission of a physician’s written order verifying that the student must remain at home or in a hospital on a day or overnight basis, or any combination of both, for medical reasons and for a period of not less than fourteen (14) school days in a school year.
i.) When determined appropriate by the District, the student’s parent(s)/guardian(s) will be asked to authorize communication between District personnel and the student’s physician and/or outside service providers.
b. If the student's special education team determines that tutorial services are necessary in order for the child to receive a free appropriate public education, said services shall be provided in accordance with the student’s individualized education program.
2. Tutorial services will be provided by District personnel or private service providers selected by the District. The District has the discretion to select personnel who meet specific District standards and qualifications.
