Dear Parents of Middle and High School Students:

Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on Thursday, March 11 and Friday, March 12. To ensure everyone’s safety, this year’s conferences will be held virtually in the same format as the fall.  Please take time to review the schedule and the procedures we will follow to enable conferences to run as smoothly as possible in this unique format.

Each meeting will be allotted 7 minutes of time. Please be considerate of the fact that our teachers will often have meetings back-to-back, so they will not be able to stay in a meeting longer than 7 minutes. If you feel that a conversation was left unfinished, please feel free to contact the teacher directly to arrange another time to continue the discussion.

STUDENTS WILL BE DISMISSED AT 9:56AM ON BOTH CONFERENCE DAYS

 

Following is the bell schedule for both days:

 

March 11:  ‘A’ Day – Periods 1, 2, and 3

March 12:  ‘A’ Day – Periods 4, 8, and 9

 

Bell Schedule:

Period 1 or 4            7:50 – 8:30

Period 2 or 8            8:33 – 9:13

Period 3 or 9            9:16 – 9:56

 

Below are the directions to make virtual appointments with your child’s teachers.

  1. Log onto the Parent Portal and obtain the names of the teachers your child has this year.

  1. You must have a Google Account to register for conferences. If you do not already have one, you can use your child’s school account or click here to create your own. If you are unwilling to create a Google Account for any reason, please contact Ms. Westhoff to manually schedule conferences.

  1. Review the Parent Teacher Conference Sign Up Document , which will allow you to make appointments with your child’s teachers. Please note the Google Document has the teachers at Pierson Middle/High School listed alphabetically.

  1. Click on the teacher name, and that hyperlink will take you to their calendar.

  1. Click on the time slot you would like to reserve.

  1. Write your child’s name in the description box, then click “Save” to claim the slot. This will generate a Google Meet link that you will use to talk to the teacher. You will be sent a confirmation email, and the event will be added to your Google Calendar.

  1. If you are having trouble, please reach out to Ms. Westhoff or Mr. Guinan as they will assist you through this process.

 

 

We encourage parents to conference with as many teachers as possible during the time that you have available.  Communication between home and school is one of the keys to student success.
