WCEU 2018 - Volunteer happiness assistant

Check-in time: 10~15 minutes before your shift starts

Meeting point: Volunteers HQ

Contact persons: Coordination Team (Wendie and Igor)

INTRODUCTION

During your shift, you’re responsible for ensuring all our volunteers are happy on their shifts and have everything they need to comfortably and at ease complete their shifts.

YOUR TEAM

You will be working directly with the Coordination Team who will forward requests from managers, leads and volunteers to you. They will try their best to accurately describe who and where needs and what.

COMMUNICATION

Main Slack contacts:

BEFORE THE EVENT

DURING THE EVENT

Please wear your volunteer t-shirt while you’re on shift - this is especially important for this role. Bonus points if you have an easily recognizable piece of clothing, a bag, backpack, etc. that other volunteers will recognize you by.

Meeting point is in the Volunteers HQ and your first task is to locate the Coordination Team there (Wendie and/or Igor). They will your main point of contact, but feel free to roam the venue yourself and proactively ask volunteers if they don’t need anything!

Things to look out for:

When in doubt or need help (with finding extra hands, backup, etc.), please reach out to the Coordination team.

Just to be clear: it’s not your duty to step in when someone needs a break (unless it’s a short bathroom break ;)). We have backups that can relieve volunteers in those cases - just reach out to the Coordination team!

As you can imagine, you have a lot of autonomy in this role and many chances to shine and help your fellow volunteers, so good luck!

Last but not least, we want to say a big THANK YOU for your precious help!
We couldn’t do this without you and we truly hope you’ll enjoy your volunteering experience during #WCEU 2018 at its best.
