This document is a comprehensive post-arrest timeline that I am hoping will help people with content/timeline inconsistencies, allow newcomers to the case to get up to speed and provide unbiased, non-censored information to those wanting to follow the case. The below consists of updates post-arrest, ranging from news articles, case updates, social media findings and general discussion. Please send me a note if you have anything to add.

Post arrest:

April 29:

• Prosecution in Federal case post their response to KFA’s allegations that they were listening in on LM’s calls with his legal team (X)

April 26:

• KFA submits full April 25 transcript in response to the District Attorney’s letter dated April 25, 2025, in response to the eavesdropping of phone calls that she mentioned during the April 25th hearing (Source)

 April 25:

• LM appears in Federal court (no photos,videos) and pleads not guilty to federal murder charges (AP News). Notably, KFA accuses the Prosecution of listening in on LM’s legal phone calls. His next Federal case hearing will be Dec. 5, 2025.
• Court attendees report that LM looks healthy, has short hair, was not shackled (X)  
• Leaked letter from Federal Prosecutors to KFA letting her know that one of her and LM’s phone calls was accidentally sent to them but no one listened (Source)
• LM issues new docket in PA case, Motion to Proceed Forma Pauperis (Reddit) *Note: this ended up being a mistake in PA court
• PA court response to Tom Dickey and LM’s Omnibus Pretrial Motion in full (Source) 

April 24:

• Federal government files a formal notice that they will be seeking the death penalty for LM in the federal case (BBC) 

April 17:

• LM is officially indicated in Federal case (NBC)

April 16:

• KFA responds to Federal prosecutor’s letter that it is premature to be discussing the death penalty (Source)
• Judge in PA case issues an order of extension for the prosecution, until April 25, to respond to Dickey.

 April 14:

• Federal prosecutor’s respond to KFA’s motion to preclude the death penalty, stating that the request is premature and it is too soon to discuss (Source) 
• Notice of Appearance and Request for Electronic Notification filed, in Federal case, adding Thomas John Wright to the prosecution

April 11:

• KFA files motion in Federal case, to preclude the government from seeking the death penalty in LM’s case (Source) 

April 1:

• AG Pam Bondi directs federal prosecutors to seek the death penalty for LM in his Federal case (Source)
• KFA responds to AG Pam Bondi’s request via a statement on the website  (Source)

March 27:

• Judge Carro in NY state court responds to the previous motions on March 19, 25, and 26, after a virtual conference, that LM was not present at, to amend the motions schedule (defense owes by April 23), option for prosecution to file a protective order and says LM can have a laptop (X)

March 26:

• KFA responds to prosecution in NY state case; notably adds a direct quote from LM about the McD employee and addresses the heart-shaped notes(Source)
• Prosecution in NY state court issues Automatic Discovery  (Source)  

March 25:

• NY state court prosecution responds to KFA’s motion; requests the judge to deny all requests made by Defense and enters “heart-shaped notes” addressed to Joan and LM, referencing his support  (Source)

March 23:

• Minor Dissent (Max) fifth Substack post on LM, focused on his Instagram and Twitter lists (Substack)

March 19:

• LM’s X account is deactivated (ask for archive)
• LM’s X account is reactivated
• KFA filed a motion in New York state court that states multiple things, including but not limited to: requesting full discovery, a laptop for LM and an extended motion schedule. It states that as of this date, the Defense has not been provided any civilian witness discovery  (Source)

March 17:

• Tom Dickey submits a Pre Trial Order to the court, for PA court, that states PA has 30 days from the 17th to file.
• Federal indictment deadline extended from March 19, 2025, to April 18, 2025. Both parties agreed on the extension. This would be the third federal indictment extension.

March 14:

• LM website is updated, addressing fake letters being sent by “LM” via TRULINCS  (Source)

March 10:

• Tom Dickey submits an amendment to his previous omnibus motion in PA court, LM’s attorney has filed a motion to suppress DNA evidence that police lifted from a drink they gave him at the station. The motion also seeks to drop all charges as PA failed to present enough evidence to actually move forward with the case. Also requests to suppress the alleged “manifesto” as it was actually just LM’s personal writings and police gave it the name “manifesto,” as well as LM’s refusal to appear virtually. March 9:

• Rolling Stone Magazine released an LM article with a lot of clarifying points; LM quit his job on July 9th, 2023, the first confirmation of psychedelic use from a friend, etc. (Rolling Stone)  

March 8:

• Minor Dissent (Max) fourth Substack post on LM, including screenshots of their interactions (to note, confirmation of drug use) (Substack)
• User posts letter they received where we learned new things about LM: his favorite song right now is Angi Kai from the ATLA soundtrack, he usually works out to garbage EDM, Gladiator 1 has his favorite scene in all of cinema (Battle of Carthage re-enactment), and he can speak a little Spanish

March 7:

• Media censorship: popular subreddit r/ popculture is closed, stating, “Also, this sub has been placed in "restricted mode" because apparently there are too many calls for violence. I'd like to let you guys all know that now apparently saying "luigi" is against the rules too even though they never told us. All comments with the word "luigi" get flagged as possible inciting violence.” (Reddit)
• Update to official LM website: LM has created a mail catalog for transparency and as a thank you to those who have written him letters. Scroll down to “How do I know that LM is receiving the mail I am sending him” section to access the updated note from LM (Website)
• Tom Dickey issues a “Defendants Certification” for PA Court confirming that court documents were served correctly or that the case is ready for trial, respectively (Source)

March 6:

• KFA confirms that “Porngate” is fake (Reddit)

March 5:

• Second extension granted in PA court for prosecution (assumed) to respond to Dickey’s suppression motion

March 4:

• “Warrior Jesus and a letter from LM” article on Substack, that features a letter written from LM to someone with a sick daughter – “Messiahgate” (Substack)

March 3:

• Salacious articles released about LM having 20 sex tapes and enjoying recording himself having sex, also known as “Porngate”
• Extension granted in PA court for prosecution (assumed) to respond to Dickey’s suppression motion he submitted on Feb 26

March 1:

• LM and Diddy on lockdown, as race riot ensued at MDC  (DailyMail)
• Another NYPD officer involved in LM search and seizure has a record of fabricating charges. “A federal complaint states Diaz and the other officers had full knowledge that the charges made before the Court against the plaintiff were false and untrue, yet they proceeded with prosecution.”  (X)

February 28:

• “Detective Dave Leonardi of NYPD, mentioned in Luigi Mangione’s initial indictment, has a history of creating false statements to charge individuals and abuse of power.” (X)
• LM’s friend makes a post on Instagram, seemingly responding to someone who had written LM a note, referencing her and LM responded with an inside joke (request photo source)

February 27:

• YouTube video of LM at Altoona motel surfaces on Reddit, “Shoegate” ensues and video is promptly taken off YouTube (ask for source)

February 26:

• Tom Dickey’s Omnibus Pre-Trial Motion released in full, including full arrest inventory (Source)

February 25:

• Tom Dickey says that LM was illegally detained (WTAJ)
• Substack article from someone who attended hearing (Substack) *note: discrepancies with referencing a car

February 24:

• The Preliminary Call of the List scheduled for February 24th in Pennsylvania is canceled (PA Courts)

February 23:

• LM allegedly writes back to someone who had written him a letter, making a joke about how he committed the “heinous crime” of eating a hashbrown at McDonald’s the day he was arrested, and mentions his looks, also known as “Hashbrowngate” (IYKYK) or Holli letter from LM  (Daily Mail)

February 21:

• LM appears at NYC state court hearing in green sweater, khaki pants, sockless loafers and shackles. In a pre-trial hearing, where cameras were not allowed in the courtroom, prosecutors reviewed the evidence they say they’ve turned over to the defense. LM was indicted by a Manhattan grand jury on 11 counts, including one count of murder in the first degree and two counts of murder in the second degree, along with other weapon and forgery charges (CNN)
• KFA gives a post-hearing update, references unlawful search and seizure in PA, we also learned LM’s legal team still hasn’t received basic police reports or copies of the alleged “manifesto.” They’ve also raised concerns that the federal government is still deciding whether to seek the death penalty.  (YouTube)
• People Over Profit NYC hold protest outside courthouse from 1-4 pm (Source)
• User receives letter from LM that says he is “doing well” (Reddit)
• DOJ launches investigation of UHC (The Guardian) *note: no proven relation at this time

February 19:

• YouTuber posts security footage of LM in Altoona at hotel (YouTube), also known as RonGate, request source if video is not working, I will send via Chat
• Minor Dissent (Max) second Substack post on LM (Substack)

February 18:

• Minor Dissent (Max) first Substack post on LM (Substack), also known as MaxGate

February 17:

• HBO Max doc ‘Who is LM” released, which features Mayor Eric Adams and NYPD, claiming they now have seven fingerprints v. the original report that they were smudged and only partial

February 15:

• Reddit user Aaron receives a letter from LM, where he states he appreciates the writer keeping him “in the loop” and says he can write to him “as much as he likes”.

February 14:

• An anonymous user on TikTok publishes a book, widely believed to be written by AI to Amazon for purchase. The book claims to have details about LM and their final convos. It also alleges that LM mentioned BT and UHC while they were in Asia. Screen shots of their exchanges can be found on Reddit, we also did a comprehensive comparison of the photos that were included and it is believed to be a match with LM, via the moles on his arm and comparable thumb pictures, also known as “Bookgate” (keywords: ladyboys, scratches, misogyny, zen out) (TikTok)
• LM makes first public statement since arrest and launches website, "I am overwhelmed by - and grateful for - everyone who has written me to share their stories and express their support. Powerfully, this support has transcended political, racial, and even class divisions, as mail has flooded MDC from across the country, and around the globe. While it is impossible for me to reply to most letters, please know that I read every one that I receive. Thank you again to everyone who took the time to write. • Tik Tok user released video of LM walking at Penn in 2021 (TikTok)

February 13:

• Party Girls podcast says that LM wrote them, they are going to keep the contents private, but did say that he is grateful for the support (YouTube)

February 12:

• Federal indictment deadline delayed until March 19

February 10:

• D4LC notes they have established contact with KFA and LM will be accepting funds raised through donations on the platform. Donations will be accepted by Tom Dickey’s law firm.(D4LC)

February 8:

• User receives letter from LM stating “do not worry about me” and “humans are born resilient”

February 5:

• Jacob Kaplan retained from Agnifilo firm. “Jacob Kaplan is an experienced trial and appellate attorney specializing in white collar criminal defense and securities matters.”

February 4:

• LM gets new attorney specialized in death penalty cases, Avraham Moskowitz, an attorney experienced in death penalty cases. Moskowitz has represented more than 50 defendants charged in death penalty-eligible cases in New York.

February 1:

• LM writes letter referencing “enjoy the Florida weather for me”

January 29:

• SF Chronicle article released detailing, “LM sent him a really detailed message, about how life had gotten tough and no one understood him.” This article also states key points like: there was bank account usage in SF in August of 2024, etc.(SF Chronicle)

January 27:

• Footage re-emerges of suspect walking in NYC after getting out of taxi in similar outfit. This location was Hilltop Pharmacy on 593 Fort Washington Ave., a little less than half a mile north of the bus terminal. (YouTube)

January 11:

• TMZ releases article from people that spent time with LM in Asia (TMZ)
• TMZ released article about LM at a frat party (TMZ)

January 7:

• GQ article on LM (GQ)

January 6:

• TMZ airs documentary
• TMZ released article discussing LM in Thailand (TMZ)
• Video of LM at Christmas party talking and playing a game (Reddit)
• It is confirmed that LM is responding to letters by his attorney, KFA, in an email to a content creator on TikTok (Threads)
• Reddit user makes multiple comments in r/Hawaii subreddit about LM, claiming to be his old roommate. FreeLuigi mod verified this person's identity. He stated that LM’s family did all they could and that the media had made up a lot of lies about LM (Pinterest)

December 29:

• User allegedly receives a letter from LM that says, “It means a great deal to me knowing how much support is out there.”

December 23:

• LM appears in NYC, infamous “catwalk” down the hall of the courthouse. LM pled not guilty in New York state court to an indictment charging him with 11 counts, including murder as a crime of terrorism (keywords: whistle, “Do you have anything to say?”) (YouTube)

December 22:

• Gurwinder released article on LM (Gurwinder)

December 19:

• LM appears in PA court, waives right to extradition, extradited from PA to NYC and infamous perp walk, including Mayor Adams attendance (NBC)
• Federal prosecutors file a federal complaint against LM charging him with murder through use of a firearm, two counts of stalking, and a firearms offense. LM appears in Federal Court for his initial appearance after extradition from PA via helicopter. LM confirms he understands these charges(CNN)
• 20/20 Documentary released, “Manhunt: LM and the CEO Murder”

December 17:

• LM formally charged (Manhattan DA)

December 14:

• LM hires Karen Friedman Agnifilo as attorney

December 13:

• Pacos Version wrote short note about LM following him on Substack, essentially stating that LM followed his blog and requesting assistance in getting in touch with him  (Substack)

December 11:

• KFA interviewed before being hired, stating that the evidence is piling up against him and looking more and more that they are building the case that he committed this crime, stating possible psychiatric defense (*note: she would not have all the facts at this point and nothing she says is biased) (Source)

December 10:

• Court outburst in PA, attending PA court, assumed, “Your coverage of this event is completely out of touch and an insult to the intelligence of the American people and their lived experience.” (NBC News) Update (March 9): this verbiage is now CONFIRMED by his attorneys in the Rolling Stone article
• “Feds letter” and notebook writing released, including excerpts from entries on August 15th and October 22nd (Ken Klippenstein and NY Times )
• LM fights extradition back to NY in PA court, “Mangione did not seem to be nervous in the courtroom. As he waited for the judge, he looked around at the rows of reporters, seeming to count the number of people in the room. At times, he smiled.” LM also makes comment that he had just bought “the masks”  (CBS)
