‘Let’s Go’ Program!
Hello Volunteers!
Thank you for extending your care and compassion for our students at _____ Elementary! They are excited about this new Bike Program and need positive, dedicated role models. Together, we will encourage their development, self-esteem, and confidence towards riding two-wheeled bikes. With the consideration of ‘riding a bike’ as a life-skill, this PE unit will be incredibly impactful and memorable for our students. "Let's Go!”
Before arrival, please make sure you have the following items completed and turned in to the school’s Front Office (provide address).
- Please complete the Volunteer Form(provide link) for _______ Public Schools.
- Please provide a photocopy of your ID.
Roles and Responsibilities as a Volunteer:
- For Monday-Fridays’ Lessons, please arrive at 1:20, lessons start at 1:30 pm and will finish by 2:00 pm. (Please communicate if flexibility is needed 🙂) Please see the attached volunteer schedule and email for any necessary changes () .
- For safety, please wear proper closed-toed shoes.
- Please wear weather appropriate clothing as we will be inside the gym or on the playground.
- Assist teacher with set up and helmet and bike fitting.
- Assist students, if needed, with balancing while on bikes. Please be mindful of space and avoid physical contact with the students you are helping (For example, only hold or touch the bike or helmet when assisting a student).
- Provide positive feedback and encouragement to students.
- Please keep your phone on vibration mode during volunteer duties. The more present we are, the safer the students will feel and be!
What to Avoid as a Volunteer:
- Avoid administering discipline. Behavior concerns should be addressed by teachers and administrators.
- Avoid stepping in during conflicts between students.
- Avoiding focusing on one child.
- Avoid taking photos or videos of students.
General School Information:
- Attendance/Absence - If you are unable to volunteer at your scheduled time, please email me directly to provide notice at ____________. I enjoy planning full volunteer involvement so not knowing can impact the lesson.
- Bathrooms - The bathrooms are located near the main office. Please use the adult bathrooms only.
- Confidentiality - All volunteers must respect the confidentiality of the students and staff they assist. Information regarding students, staff and other volunteers is not to be discussed with anyone who is not entitled to such information.
