Registration Guidelines

Registration for the winter season will be held in early September.  See our website, seadragonswimming.org for dates.  All athletes are required to be members of USA Swimming.  The membership application must be completed and the membership fee paid before practicing with the team.  This year’s membership is $65.00

All members must complete registration BEFORE entering the water (including their USA SWIM REGISTRATION), and the minimum dues must be paid within the first week.  New members must provide a birth certificate.  This is a USA Swimming requirement.

If the athlete withdraws in writing (email acceptable) within 30 days of when the Sea Dragons begin practice, all payments will be returned, less a $25 set-up fee.

Outreach Program:  Athletes from families receiving assistance (food stamps or reduced lunches) pay a reduced USA Swimming membership of $7.00, and SDS provides a 50% reduction in dues.  DOCUMENTATION MUST BE PROVIDED.

Family Participation

Our member dues cover only 40% of our cost for a successful aquatics program.  In order to cover the additional 60% cost, each family is expected to participate in key events supporting the program and providing the best experience for our swimmers.  A sample of planned activities for this season include:

Orientation Night

Overview of the Sea Dragons, our mission, organization, key contacts, goals, expectations, and season’s schedule.  Sept/Oct.

Mock Meet

October event. Learn how to run a meet, such as timers, scoreboard, concession stand, clerk of courts, etc.

Fall Splash

November event. Assist with competitive swim meet activities (timers, clerk of courts, concession stand, etc.).

Chill on the Hill

February event. Similar to above.

Movie Night / Fundraising Activities

Monthly fundraising event (usually on Fridays).

Training Sessions

Twice per season. These sessions are to help swimming families increase their understanding of Swimming, Athlete development, Program Contribution, and Nutrition.

Membership Dues

Dues are per season with a monthly payment option. Membership dues are for the entire season, are not prorated for a partial season, and are non-refundable after the 30-day trial period except in case of documented medical conditions, which preclude further participation.  If electing installments, there will be an additional service charge.   Siblings will receive a $10.00 per swimmer discount on both the Registration Fee and the monthly payment.

Our Commitment to You

Every athlete is important to the Sea Dragons and will receive the individual attention and instructions needed to achieve their best.

Dues paid to the Sea Dragons go 100% to further the program.  Board members and management are volunteers, pay the same dues as everyone else, and receive no compensation.
