Hello my wonderful parents,

I hope that you have gotten back into the swing of things. Only 7 weeks left, seven Mondays...I think we can do it!

*As you know this week is SAT testing. That means that our schedule will be all changed up. We will be testing in the morning and doing academics in the afternoon. Just a few reminders regarding this week:

Please make sure your child is well rested with a full 8 hours of sleep. Please provide them with a large water bottle full of WATER. Please no juice, milk, or sports drink this week. Also please provide your child with a healthy snack; veggies, fresh fruit, etc.

Tuesday & Wednesday - Bring Violins

Music - Preparing “Pomp and Circumstance” for Eighth Grade Graduation Ceremony on Thursday, May 31st; this event is a mandatory participation and will be for a grade.

Field Day will be held this Friday! A detailed information sheet was sent home on Friday. Hot dogs will be provided for the children.  Please send chips and a drink (one soda can will be allowed this time only) in your child’s lunch box that day.  Each student will also need to bring a small (child size) sand pail (please, no hardware store buckets or large pails) and a beach towel.  The Dollar Tree is a good place to find sand pails.  Children should wear a t-shirt (no tank tops or spaghetti straps), shorts or pants and tennis shoes (no sandals, flip flops, crocs or water shoes).  For precaution, send a change of clothes in your child’s backpack.  Your child will be out in the sun most of the morning, please apply sunscreen that morning before your child comes to school.  Mr. Ortiz will need lots of volunteers.  Please contact him directly if you are able to help -

*Progress Reports will be sent out April 25th

*Rock n Water is right around the corner! Almost all of you have responded, paid and everything. To those thank you! I have your money, release form and all is well. If you did NOT pay yet your balance for Rock n Water, please do so ASAP! The balance is $50 per camper. I sent home a release form for your camper, however (after reading the legal jargon) I realized that each attender needs to fill out that form. You should have gotten another release from. If you did not, its on your child’s desk at school. That form will need to be filled out ONLY if you as a parent are coming, or if you have NOT already filled out one for yourself. I think a couple of you figured out that it needed to be filled out for yourself as well, and already provided me with that. So if you have filled out one for yourself. Don’t worry about it, your done. :) Regarding immunizations. Rock n Water also needs a copy of your child’s immunizations. The school has a copy of that record. Our wonderful office aid has already said she would be happy to make copies for us. If you have not already provided us for that, and you do not have quick access to that. Call Samantha. She should be able to copy what you gave the school, and I am assuming that will be sufficient.

I think that is all for now. I hope you enjoy your weekend!

Ms. Miller
