Beginning March 26, 2020 until further notice, The Larimer County Human Services Department is conducting almost all business remotely due to concerns with the Coronavirus. Below is information on how to access our services during this time. |
Child Protection
Report child abuse concerns:
To make a child protection referral please call 970-498-6990 or 1-844-CO4KIDS (1-844-264-5437)
Larimer County Staff continue to process all referrals during the hours of 8am - 7pm Monday through Friday. Outside of these hours, and on weekends and holidays, State Hotline employees process the calls and then forward to the Larimer team for screening and assignment.
Child Welfare Services:
In an attempt to minimize the risk to staff, children, parents and providers, Larimer County leadership has significantly reduced the number of required face to face contacts occurring between child welfare workers and children. The notable exceptions are on any new assessment open by the Department and any ongoing cases in which the safety and risk concerns warrant needing normal face to face contacts.
Visitation Services:
In an effort to help minimize the chance of spreading the coronavirus, and attempt to keep children, families, providers and staff as safe as possible, we have made the difficult decision to only support visitation between parents and children through remote or virtual platforms. Caseworker and/or visitation staff will work with you and the foster family to set up visitation through phone calls or video conferencing platforms. We know that contact with your child(ren) is of the utmost importance and will be doing our best to make sure as much virtual contact as possible takes place.
Court Proceedings:
Court proceedings are still happening but are being conducted by phone conference. Contact your caseworker if you have any questions.
Juvenile Justice
HUB:
HUB staff are processing calls remotely from the community between the hours of 8am - 7 pm, Monday through Friday. You can reach a live body by calling 970-498-6990 or 1-844-CO4KIDS (1-844-264-5437)
The HUB currently does not have any staff on site, but employees are responding to detention screening needs virtually and/or in person, and in conjunction with the Community Correctional Transportation Unit, are working to expedite law enforcement's return to their patrol duties.
Casework Services:
In an attempt to minimize the risk to staff, children, parents and providers, Larimer County leadership has significantly reduced the number of required face to face contacts occurring between caseworkers, children and families.. At this point in time, all contact with case workers working with families within the context of juvenile justice will be completed virtually.
Court Proceedings:
Court proceedings are still happening on a limited basis but are being conducted by phone conference. Contact your caseworker if you have any questions.
