Leaf The Heat Behind

Fall Into Family Fun

Thank you to everyone that attended our first PTC meeting of the year! There were 30 people present in person and online, making it the highest meeting attendance in over 3 years. We are excited to welcome our new President Kaitlynn Pineau, Publicity Coordinator Caitlyn Correa and Treasurer Bal Bains, who is taking over Kaitlynn’s previous position. Learn more about the PTC Board at www.lcesptc.org/about. Also at the meeting, parents requested a direct donations link for PTC. You can now donate directly to PTC HERE or by  visiting www.lcesptc.org.

Miss the meeting? Want to see the 2024/2025 Budget approved at the meeting?  Visit the Minutes & Agendas page on our website www.lcesptc.org to see the meeting minutes and approved budget. Meeting Agendas, Minutes and reports presented at PTC Meetings will be uploaded to the website after the meetings. Our next meeting is Tuesday, October 8th @ 3:00PM in the LCES Library and Google Meet. Remember a School Site Council (SSC) meeting will be held after; this is where Dr D discusses school budget and school activities like field trips.

APEX is here! Our Colts will be participating in the Apex Fun Run 🏃 Fundraiser 09/30 - 10/10! APEX combines the power of a strong curriculum with fitness that is fun! Has your Colt seen THIS monster on campus? He’s collecting candy for the Trunk-Or-Treat part of Fall Fest on Friday, 10/25. Have your child write their name and teacher's name on a bag of candy and bring the candy to their classroom.  The class will “feed the monster” the candy donations. The class with the most donations will get a fun prize. Thank you to Jennifer Marsh, Jeanette Ginther and Erinn Miller for creating this stunning monster!

Forget cooking on Tuesday, October 8th! Dine-out from all day @ Red Robin and 20% of proceeds will be donated back to the school! CLICK HERE or here for more details 🍔

Grab your chairs/picnic blanket and lunches and join your Colt student for lunch on the playground and the Watch DOGS Game Day Event! Lunch times are as follows:

TK: 11:20-11:40, K-1st: 11:00-11:40, 2nd-3rd: 11:45-12:25 and 4th-5th: 12:30-1:10.

On Friday, October 25th  from 5:00pm-7:00pm join us for Fall Fest @ LCES. This FREE LCES family event will have a trunk-or-treat, games, inflatables, face painting, henna and photo area. There will also be 3 food trucks selling food: The Habibi’s Grill, Hernandez Pupuseria Tati and Bubble Cone for dessert.

We need your help! VOLUNTEER to run a game or set-up/clean-up HERE. Your Business or Family can also sponsor a game. Want to decorate a 🚘 trunk during Fall Fest?  SIGN UP HERE. The Candy Monster is even collecting candy for trunks.  Best trunk wins a fun prize and bragging rights! This event was a huge hit last year and is made possible with the help of many volunteers and local businesses.

On Thursday, October 31st students are invited to bring a carved or decorated pumpkin to school for the annual Pumpkin Carving Contest. All pumpkins will be on display in the courtyard just inside the main gate. Make sure your student takes home their pumpkin at the end of the school day. Winners will be chosen for each grade by a super secret staff committee  and announced at the end of the school day 🎃

On Friday, November 8th at 8:45am all LCE active duty and veteran family members are invited to join their students during the Veterans Day Tribute portion of the Leadership Assembly in the MPR. To help create a Hero Wall, we’re asking  students and staff to bring in 4x6 pictures of their active duty or veteran family members to the office by 11/04. Please write the person’s name, military branch and child’s name(s) and grade(s) on the back of the picture (ex. Airmen Jane Smith, US Air Force, Suzie (5th) and Johnny (2nd)). The Hero Wall will be on display in MPR through Veterans Day 11/11.
