Screencastify

Screencastify is a video recorder and editor that works directly in Google Chrome. No other software is needed.  SSFUSD has installed Screencastify for all teachers and students, to use for free.

Screencastify has been installed in your SSFUSD Chrome account, and you’ll see it the next tie you launch Google Chrome and sign in with your SSFUSD Google account.  But Screencastify still needs to be set up by each user.

Follow these instructions to continue the setup process for Screencastify:

After launching Google Chrome and signing in with your SSFUSD Google account, you’ll see the Screencastify app icon in your toolbar, to the right-side of the address bar:

Step 1: Begin the Setup Process

Click on it to start the setup process:

Step 2: Sign in with your SSFUSD Google account

Next, click on the button to Sign in with Google, and then follow the prompts.  Make sure that you are signing in with your SSFUSD Google account:

Step 3: Configure Screencastify Permissions

Next, you’ll go through the Screencastify prompts and set permissions to complete the setup process:

Step 4: Finish & Activate License

When you complete Step 3, you’ll be shown a “Hooray!” screen, and you’ll have access to use Screencastify when you click on the toolbar icon.  Clicking the icon should also automatically activate your SSFUSD district license for Screencastify Unlimited:
