Welcome & Greeting

Call to Worship  (Psalm 62)

Leader:        For God alone my soul waits,

People:        for my hope is from God.

Leader:        God is my rock and salvation; my fortress.

People:        I shall not be shaken.

Leader:        We unite to worship God,

People:        my refuge and my rock.

Prayer of Praise and Adoration  (Unison)

From deep within us we know of a loving presence.
All around us we see glory, beauty, life, and light.
Therefore we come to you God!
In this moment of worship may your loving presence grow deeper.
May we, united this day, learn to be present with you,
who loves us at all times and in all places.

God, of love and life, be more and more in us

that we might live more and more in you. Amen.

Opening Hymn:                          Take My Life, and Let It Be                                HENDON

1 Take my life, and let it be
consecrated, Lord, to thee.
Take my moments and my days;
let them flow in ceaseless praise,
let them flow in ceaseless praise.

4 Take my silver and my gold;
not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect, and use
every power as thou shalt choose,
every power as thou shalt choose.

2 Take my hands, and let them move
at the impulse of thy love.
Take my feet, and let them be
swift and beautiful for thee,
swift and beautiful for thee.

5 Take my will, and make it thine;
it shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart, it is thine own;
it shall be thy royal throne,
it shall be thy royal throne.

3 Take my voice, and let me sing;
unto God my praise I bring.
Take my lips, and let them be
filled with messages from thee,
filled with messages from thee.

6 Take my love, my Lord, I pour
at thy feet its treasure-store.
Take myself, and I will be
ever, only, all for thee,
ever, only, all for thee.

Prayer of Dedication of Gifts and Self  (Unison)

those like us and those not, those deserving and those not,

Song                        You, Have Come Down to the Lakeshore        PESCADOR DE HOMBRES

1 You have come down to the lakeshore    seeking neither the wise nor the wealthy,

But only asking for me to follow,

3 You need my hands, my exhaustion,

Working love for the rest of the weary—

A love that’s willing to go on loving.

2 You know full well my possessions.

Neither treasure nor weapons for conquest.

Just these my fishnets and will for working.

4 You who have fished other waters;

you, the longing of souls that are yearning:

As loving Friend, you have come to call me.

O Jesus, you have looked into my eyes;

kindly smiling, you’ve called out my name.

On the sand I have abandoned my small boat,

now with you I will seek other seas.

Scripture                                       Mark 1:16-20 (NRSV)

As Jesus passed along the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the sea—for they were fishermen. And Jesus said to them, “Follow me and I will make you fish for people.” And immediately they left their nets and followed him. As he went a little farther, he saw James son of Zebedee and his brother John, who were in their boat mending the nets. Immediately he called them; and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed him.

Closing Hymn                            Let There Be Peace on Earth                       WORLD PEACE

Let there be peace on earth
and let it begin with me,
let there be peace on earth,
the peace that was meant to be.

Let peace begin with me,
let this be the moment now.

With every step I take,

let this be my solemn vow;

With God our Creator,
children all are we.
Let us walk with each other
in perfect harmony.

To take each moment and live
each moment in peace eternally.
Let there be peace on earth,
and let it begin with me.
