  1. Frequently Asked Questions

How do I access the ClearPass Questionnaire?

Refer to the ClearPass instructions above in Section II. B. Please note, that in order to sign up for an account and log in, a student MUST use their district-provided email address. It will not work otherwise.

How frequently do I have to complete the ClearPass?

The ClearPass located at ClearPass must be completed everyday prior to stepping on to campus as only cleared students are permitted to enter campus.

Who all is allowed on campus at this time?

Refer to Section II. C for specific information about Phase One Expansion. Currently, Phase 1 Expansion for secondary students is appointment based for those that qualify. You will be notified if your child qualifies. Athletes have also been invited to return for limited CIF sports based on county tier status. Parents, community members and other individuals are not allowed on campus at this time.

If my child is exposed to someone with a positive COVID test what am I supposed to do?

Please refer to Section III. B. and C. Please contact the school nurses by email hwasson@sandi.net and agiron@sandi.net or you may call the school health office at 619-860-5000 ext. 3050. The school nurse will guide you through further steps.

What if my child has COVID?

Please refer to Section III. B., C., and D. A student with COVID must self-isolate at home for 10 days and cannot return to school until all of the following are true:

What if my child has cold-like symptoms that are most probably related to allergies?

If your child has a history of having similar symptoms to his/her current symptoms that are usually due to allergies AND your child does not have a fever (temperature 100℉ or above) nor other COVID-like symptoms (i.e. loss of taste and smell, cough, shortness of breath), then your student may complete the ClearPass and if cleared may come to campus. When in doubt, however, please call your child’s doctor to determine next steps. You may also email the school nurses for further guidance: Heidi Wasson at hwasson@sandi.net and Aimee Giron at agiron@sandi.net.

My child is coming on to campus on a regular basis, should he/she schedule a COVID testing appointment and if so how frequently?

For information on the free onsite COVID testing please refer to Section IV above. Absolutely we strongly encourage that all students and athletes coming on campus should get tested. This will help to reduce the chances of spreading COVID to everyone and having to consequently shut down a sport, class, or worse, the entire campus. Testing is offered every 2 weeks and testing at this frequency is encouraged. The good news is that after the initial appointment, all future scheduling is simple and fast.

I am a parent of an athlete and want to talk to my child’s coach. Can I go to my child’s practice and speak with the coach?

No, parents are NOT allowed on campus...only the students, school staff, and coaches may come. Please contact your coach by email to determine the best way to talk with him/her.

Are the students ever allowed to take off their masks and if so, when?

Masks should be worn while on campus at all times with the exception of briefly taking a drink. For mask wearing during athletic participation, see athletic COVID guidelines.

How will I find out if my child has been exposed to someone with COVID while on campus?

In the event that we are informed that a student, teacher, or other staff member has tested positive for COVID, our school health office in collaboration with the district Nursing & Wellness and the County Health department, begins the contact tracing process. In other words, we assess and identify all individuals who were in close contact (less than 6 feet for more than 15 minutes in the 48 hours prior to the positive test result). We then promptly contact these individuals who are required to quarantine for 14 days from date of exposure.
