Officers present: Amberle Schwartz, Pete Arnsten, Jacquie LaCasse, Kate Gottwald, Shelley Jansky, Jill Ziehr

  1. Check in, introductions
  2. Patch Street champion, Shane Olsen, unanimously approved
  3. Vice President, Alissa Lick, unanimously approved
  4. Non-native Lupine in gardens
  1. Count and replace them with native “perennis” species asap
  1. Purchase plants this year to replace non-native with native lupines
  2. Contact members to offer substitute plants
  3. Authorized $300 to purchase native lupine plants
  1. Future programs
  1. July 3 meeting - Nichole Good, Generations  Pete will confirm day and time, Shelley will bring snacks
  2. Pete will let us know when we can pick lupine seeds on his prairie
  3. August 7 meeting - Amberle will send email to membership, asking for volunteers to host garden tours; Alissa Lick will coordinate scheduling tours; will have leadership meeting at 4:00, followed by tours

  1. Limit to Wild Ones members
  2. Need volunteers to sign waivers
  1. Shelley and Kate will monitor Wild Ones email box

  5. Private Facebook Group? Members only - Would this be helpful to quickly share events/information without everything needing an email or FB event?
  6. Should we offer meetings via Zoom? Or record meetings to post on YouTube?

  10. Member Announcements:
  1. Seed Bank at Portage County Downtown Stevens Point Library seeking donations of native seeds. Please label with species (latin if known) and year harvested.
  2. Seed Bank project would like to host some seed harvesting workshops this summer and fall to keep the seed bank stocked. Anyone with a prairie who is willing can contact Amberle or sign up here.
