Pressbooks Results Demo Courses

Thank you for your interest in accessing a demonstration course for Pressbooks Results.

We have created fully functional demo courses in Canvas, Moodle, D2L Brightspace, and Blackboard. The Canvas and Moodle courses support user self-registration (as students) in the course. Instructions are provided below.

If you would like access to the D2L Brightspace or Blackboard course, Pressbooks staff must do this manually. Please fill out this request form and we will add you at our earliest convenience:

Self-registration in Canvas:

1. Visit https://pressbooks.instructure.com/courses/207 and click ‘Join this course’ in upper right corner
   
2. Enter email address, select ‘I am a new user’, enter Full name, and click ‘Enroll in Course’
   
3. Click ‘Go to the course’
   
4. To complete registration and log in again after your initial session, go to your email account, find the email with the subject line “Confirm Registration: Canvas”, and click the ‘Click here to finish the registration process’ link
   
5. Enter your desired password and click ‘Register’

Self-registration in Moodle

1. Visit demo course at https://moodle.pressbooks.pub/course/view.php?id=87
2. Click ‘Log in’ in top right of course:
   
3. On the login page, click ‘Create New Account’ in the ‘Is your first time here?’ box
   
4. Fill in the requested information (username, password, email address, first name, last name) and click ‘Create my new account’
   
5. Click continue on subsequent page:
6. Check your email for a message with subject line: “Pressbooks Moodle: account confirmation’ and visit the URL provided in that message:
7. Click ‘Continue’ on the confirmation message
   
8. Return to the course https://moodle.pressbooks.pub/course/view.php?id=87 and click the gear in the top right of the course homepage. Select the ‘Enrol me in this course option’
   
9. Click ‘Enrol me’ on the subsequent page to confirm your enrollment in the course as a student:
