5" Center Console Lift Brackets | 1981-1987/91
Installation Instructions
What you need to know first:
- You will remove your center console first.
- Leave the factory brackets on the floor — don’t remove those.
- Keep the bolts that hold the console to the floor. You will reuse these to mount the new brackets.
- We give you bolts to put the bracket together and to bolt the console to the bracket.
- You might need to take out one or both front seats to make installation easier.
Steps:
- Take out your center console.
- Remove it from the truck but leave the factory floor brackets in place.
- Keep your old bolts safe.
- These bolts will be used to attach the new lift brackets to the floor.
- Get your new bracket parts ready.
- You have 4 pieces: 2 end pieces (both the same) and 2 side pieces (both the same).
- Put all parts on a bench or table.

- Set up the end pieces.
- Face the two end pieces toward each other like they’re looking at each other.
- Flip the left one upside down so one end piece’s tabs are on the bottom and the other’s tabs are on the top.

- Attach the side pieces.
- Use the side pieces to connect the two end pieces.
- Loosely bolt them together — don’t tighten yet.

- Bolt the lift bracket to the floor.
- Use your saved factory bolts to attach the bracket to the floor brackets.
- Keep the bolts loose for now.
- Attach your center console to the lift bracket.
- Use the hardware we provided to bolt the console to the bracket.
- Leave these bolts loose too.
- Choose your console position.
- 1 inch forward (bracket rotated 180 degrees)
- 1 inch back (default position)
- We recommend the 1 inch back position for more shifter clearance, but you pick what feels right.

- Tighten all bolts.
- When everything is lined up and in place, tighten all bolts securely.
- Finish up!
- Put your seats back if you removed them.
- Your console lift installation is done!
