NOVEMBER 17, 2021 Campus Notification: COVID-19

The university recently received notification of one individual testing positive for COVID-19 that may have been potentially infectious with the virus when on campus. The individual was last on campus on November 16 in the Recreation Center and Murchie Science Building. The university was notified of the positive result on November 17.

Contact tracing is being conducted and will continue in these cases. If anyone is identified as a “close contact” they will be contacted directly regarding any next steps.

We strongly encourage all members of the campus community to remain vigilant against COVID-19 by adhering to health and safety precautions designed to mitigate the spread of the virus, including the University’s face-covering policy. Additional information on staying safe can be found through your healthcare provider, The Centers for Disease Control, The Michigan Department of Health & Human Services, and the Genesee County Health Department.
