1. Winter (seed) Sewing Presentation
1 pm, Saturday,
January. 18, 2025  Kress Library (333 N Broadway, De Pere)
Many seeds need a cold period to germinate, and gardeners can reuse plastic containers to create a protected environment ideal for sowing seeds outdoors in winter that will germinate as the weather warms. Participants will learn what kinds of seeds can be winter sown (natives and veggies), as well as when and how to sow them, including seed stratification and scarification. Following a presentation and demonstration, participants can create their own mini greenhouses.

2.  “Native Plantings for Birds”
Tuesday, February 4, 2025; 6 pm-7 pm (ZOOM)
See the attached flyer for more information, including
reservation instructions; sponsored by NEW Bird Alliance.

3. The NEWMG “Mix and Mingle” gathering will be Saturday morning, March 15, 2025 at the STEM Center.  Stay tuned for more information.

Volunteer request
Assistance is requested at the March 8, 2025, noon-3 pm 2025 Kickoff for the Brown County Seed Library at Central Branch, Brown County Library.  Volunteers will man a table to provide hands-on learning for seed starting.  At the same time in a different location in the Library, other volunteers are sought to answer questions at a drop in Q and A table and to assist with the bulk seed swap.  For more information, contact
Melissa Wass.
