December 9, 2021 Campus Notification: COVID-19

The university recently received notification of two (2) separate, unrelated individuals testing positive for COVID-19 that may have been potentially infectious with the virus when on campus. The university was notified of both positive cases on December 9.

In the first case, an individual was last on campus on December 7 in the William S. White Building

In the second case, an individual was last on campus on December 3 in the William S. White Building and also attended an off campus instructional clinical on December 6.

Contact tracing is being conducted and will continue in these cases. If anyone is identified as a “close contact” they will be contacted directly regarding any next steps.

We strongly encourage all members of the campus community to remain vigilant against COVID-19 by adhering to health and safety precautions designed to mitigate the spread of the virus, including the University’s face-covering policy. Additional information on staying safe can be found through your healthcare provider, The Centers for Disease Control, The Michigan Department of Health & Human Services, and the Genesee County Health Department.
