WSCA BOARD MEETING

February 11, 2021

In attendance: Jim Darby, Linda Henson, Reed Cowie, Dean Cornelius, Donna Anderson and Jerry Perez

Meeting was called to order at 7:05

Linda Read the minutes from the Dec 3 meeting and the December 29th meeting

From the meeting minutes we discussed the following:

• Board posting on positions: Several people have reached out and asked about the positions and have shown interest in becoming board members
• Donna will send an updated financial statement to be posted on WSCA once she has the information gathered
• Two clubs have not paid their dues in 2020. Donna checking to see if one of them paid in 2019, it isn’t clear. She will draft a letter to Evergreen ($363) and JBLM ($150) to tell them if they do not pay, their shoots will not be registered.
• Reed will follow-up with Granite Falls on getting the December dues.
• State shoot is still in limbo because of COVID and the Phases

GOALS

After a bit of discussion about the goals, Jim suggests that we hold off on them for at least the first half of the year because of COVID but for the board to go over them and decide which one they want to be responsible for and then put together their proposal on those goals,

• Contact radio station – Jerry will head this
• Get statistics and numbers from NSCA - Jim will do this - Linda send him what we need (DONE)
• WOW – Linda and Donna will do this
• Do something with WSCA money for shooters – lots of ideas here. Being assigned to Dean and Reed
• Open Items – there is a list of open items that has ideas and goals that have been on the ‘list’ for years. Meeting on February 25 to go over this list line by line to move forward or delete. Those being moved forward will get assigned to a board member at this meeting

NEW BUSINESS

ScoreChaser – this is a new app by Casey Chase that is for the shooters and clubs. There is no fee (unless you want help) for clubs or shooters. Seattle Skeet and Trap, Lost Pair Ranch and Upper Nisqually are all using this application and are finding it beneficial.  Double Barrel will start using it for their March shoot. It is a simple program to use. Must have WIFI but there are ways to make it work if you don’t have WIFI at the club. Linda will put the information on WSCA and send note to clubs. (LINDA)

Hunter Class: Donna brought up about Hunter class becoming NSCA members. Jim has had trouble talking to the clubs and getting them to do anything. Reed suggested that clubs put the NSCA information out on the registration table and Jim suggested, after COVID, that a board member be at a club to answer any questions a Hunter may have. Dean suggested we need to let the clubs know how to let shooters know how to sign up for NSCA

New Clubs - Supporting new clubs and getting new clubs to start up. Dean is going to reach out to Gary at Rock Lake. Donna will reach out to the Ephrata club – they want to try and do something –will be talking to them to see if they are going to become a club – maybe doing a 5 stand. Rattlesnake is still interested too. WSCA will give any new club administrative support.

Next meeting set for February 25th at 7 pm to go over the Open Item list.
