HONORS COURSE SELECTION INSTRUCTIONS

for Fall 2024 First-Year Whitman School of Management Honors Students (including duals with Newhouse and Arts & Sciences)

You should register for one 3- or 4-credit Honors course in your first semester. In some cases, you can take two Honors courses (see below).  Take the Honors course you find most appealing! If you have any questions as you go through this process, please contact Honors at honors@syr.edu.

1. Required Writing course: There is an Honors version of WRT 105 called WRT 109 offered in two formats. Please see the descriptions of these courses on the tab above at right. Either of these courses will fulfill the first-semester Writing requirement. Please note that you are not required to take Honors writing to fulfill your Writing requirement!

2. Choosing Honors courses to fill elective/liberal arts slots: You can include Honors courses among your Arts and Sciences elective choices. To see the descriptions for Honors electives, please refer to the descriptions on the courses tab above at right.

3. Taking two Honors courses in Fall 2022: If CHE 109 is your Honors course choice, you can also request a second Honors course for fall.
