Policies and Guidelines

We ask all new members to carefully read the following document.  By signing up for a membership, you agree to the following Policies and Guidelines. These are the guidelines that keep our CSA running smoothly, and you will be responsible for knowing them.  CSA refers to the “Community Supported Agriculture Fresh Fresh Food Box” subscription in which you pay an advance for a regular supply of fresh produce.

The Philosophy of CSA – Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a way for you to purchase your certified organic vegetables directly from our farm, experience the joy of eating seasonally, and join directly with us in producing the food that your family eats.  CSA  is a relationship that goes beyond simple convenience. It is based on mutual respect between the customer and the farmer. As a member, you pay in advance for a regular supply of produce, reflecting the risk that the farm takes to plant, tend, and harvest crops. As a CSA member, you make a commitment to share in the rewards and the risks that is inherent with farming.

Payments: We use a web-based software program called Farmigo to help manage the financial interactions between our customers and our farm. With it, CSA subscribers have online access to their own accounts. We accept payment via Credit / Debit or e-check.  When you sign up for a share, you agree to pay the full amount of your share according the payment plan that you choose.  By choosing a payment plan you agree to pay all payments.  We have design each subscription so you may run out of a balance on your account before the end of the season and can decide at that point if you want to pay-as-you go.  This allows you to help us get the season going, but not commit to more produce that you want.

Payment Plans: While your membership is a commitment to pay a certain dollar amount, you and spread that payment over multiple months. Choose a payment plan that is the right fit for your family- we do not charge any fees for payment plans.  Families that are able to pay up front help us buy seeds, potting soil and other early season expense.

Refund Policy: We are not able to issue any refunds.  In the case of unexpected financial hardship or life circumstance, request an exception by contacting our Farm Manager, Jonah Tabb at jtabb@TeterOrganicFarm.com.  If you are new to eating a healthy organic diet with a variety of different vegetables, we recommend you try our produce out from the farmers market first!

Box Sizes and Values: We offer two subscription options: Weekly and Every Other Week. If you’re a new customer, we recommend starting the Every Other Week subscription, which is our most popular share size.  We also have a limited number  of One Month Trial Memberships, if you want a feel for what being a CSA Member is like.

Autopay Option: We encourage all of our customers to sign up for the automatic payment option that will pay your account.  Our online system is secure, and we at Teter Organic Farm DO NOT have access to your credit card information, but it is stored securely with our online payment processor.

Manual Payment: If you prefer, you will still have the option to make renewal payments manually.

Payment due emails: All billing issues regarding your account will be emailed to you, including start ups and notice of suspension of service.

Communication and Feedback: You may also receive specific emails announcing important changes to our service. Especially important are last site moves. Please read our emails as soon as you see them. Please add info@TeterOrganicFarm.com to your address book to protect our communications from spam filters.

We encourage subscribers to give us feedback about box quality and contents by emailing us at info@TeterOrganicFarm.com. Include your full name, and your Email address login which you used to create your online account on all correspondence. For quality issues please include when you picked up your box and how you’re storing the produce.

Vacations: If you can’t pick up your box on a given week, why not tell a friend to pick up your box while you’re gone?  Each member is allotted one vacation ‘skip’ week, where you can save your balance for another week.

Pickup Location Etiquette:

Please arrive during the designated pick-up hours.  Our schedule during the growing season is very full, and it is challenging for us to accommodate pickups outside of the designated time.  If you are concerned pick-up might be difficult, we recommend you consider purchasing our produce at the Farmers Market on Saturdays from 8-12 pm.
