USDA wellness policy goals outline that 3 goals must be included,

  1. nutrition goal, 2) physical activity goal, and 3) other student wellness goal, additional goals are optional
  1. Nutrition Education

This will be met in the next school year as implement a nutrition curriculum that address health and wellness for Pk-12.

 Quarterly evaluations will be implemented in the 2024-2025 school year specific nutrition education components for all ages.

  1. Physical Activity Goal(s)- K-8 students should participate in at least 60min. 60 Min is offered at the 9-12 level that is consistent with national and state standards for physical education

K-8 students are scheduled for 60 minutes weekly. K-6 also participate in daily recess.  9-12 are offered physical education and meet the one year requirement by the state.

  1. Other student wellness Goal(s )- District will actively communicate in ways that stakeholders may become apart of the District Wellness Committee to assist in the development and implement of the Wellness Policy, which would include the periodic review and update of that policy

This action will be implemented for the 2024-25 school year. Through stakeholder engagement and more frequent meetings to address the policy currently in place and it’s implementation.
