Important Notice: All seniors are expected to attend school every day that school is in session.  Patterson Joint Unified School District does not sanction what is commonly called “Ditch Day”.  Seniors should not be on school grounds before 6:00 a.m. or after 9:00 pm (without permission).  Senior pranks are not allowed.  Seniors in violation of any school policy may not be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony.

PROM TICKETS GO ON SALE; Tickets may be purchased at the ASB window DURING LUNCH.  Guest passes are available in the library, room 204, attendance office, or the ASB payment window. IMPORTANT! All fines must be paid in order to buy prom tickets

PRICE:  $70-$80 per person in April

Price will increase in May, so buy EARLY.

Go over rules and guidelines.  If you are attending the  Magic Mountain trip you MUST ATTEND this meeting.  You will be given your in-lieu slip to be excused from classes and your parent permission forms.  You will also be signing up for the bus you want to ride on.  If you are not there you will be assigned to a bus.

Subject: DRESS REQUIREMENTS FOR GRADUATION

The following requirements are for Graduation Ceremony.

1.        CAPS AND GOWNS

  1. Check the cap and gown to ensure correct size for you. Let your counselor know immediately if it is not correct.

  1. Caps are centered on your head, not worn at an angle. The tassel should be placed over the left front corner of the cap. No writing or decoration on caps.

2.        ALL STUDENTS

A.        No flowers, purses, cameras, balloons, cell phones, etc. We do not have a safe place to store these items; (you can pick up your flowers, etc. after the ceremony). NO FLOWERS MEANS NO FLOWERS, NO LEIS, NO CORSAGES, NO WRIST CORSAGES OR BOUQUETS. (Only District/School approved adornments can be worn).

B.        Additional sashes are by pre-approval only (Currently military, National Scholar and CSF)

3.        YOUNG WOMEN

A.         Straight dresses of light color are recommended for wearing under the gown. Dresses should not be longer than your gown.

B.        No fancy jewelry, medallions, or large necklaces, etc. It is better to wear no jewelry, however, if any is worn it should only be small earrings. Please nothing glittery.

C.        You will be more comfortable and less likely to trip or fall if you wear flat shoes.

4.        YOUNG MEN

        A.        Long pants (no shorts), shoes and socks must be worn.

        B.        Shirts should be light in color.

        C.        Dark, solid color ties (no bow ties, please).

Students who are not dressed according to the above requirements will be sent home to change and may not be allowed to participate in the ceremony.

5.        GUESTS

        

        Please ask your family and friends to refrain from BRINGING HORNS AND OTHER DISTRACTING ITEMS, such as large balloons; please no cell phone calls or text messages during the services.

Graduation is a ceremony NOT a rally. Family and friends are to remain off the field until the recessional.

SENIOR END OF THE YEAR POLICY

To participate in the end of the year graduation activities, a student must satisfy all of the following requirements:

  1. Must not be absent from school 20 or more total days (120 period absences) without the required medical verification (Doctor’s Note). Every other absence is counted.

  1. Must not engage in a class prank. Due to vandalism that has taken place during recent years all pranks will be dealt with as an issue of trespassing, vandalism, and defiance. Inevitably these pranks cross the line and are destructive and demeaning to our campus and students. Many man hours are spent to clean the campus and put it back into working order.

  1. Receive no five days suspensions on or after May 1, 2020;

  1. Have no more than one suspension on or after May 1, 2020;

  1. Be in good standing in terms of any financial obligations towards the school (including library books, classroom books, chromebooks and fines - all fines are to be paid no later than May 22, 2020)

  1. Meet all High School academic requirements
