Omaha Modern Quilt Guild Meeting Minutes

Meeting called to order by Susie Bonder at 6:30 pm
Members – 44 members in person, & 10 online, 3 new member/guests 57 Total
- President - Welcome guests and new members
The guild has purchased 2 design walls for use at retreats and workshops.
Region 2 National Board of Directors has an opening for a board member. Must apply by 9/16/22.
Zoom update - As of now, we will no longer be offering zoom streaming options.
Block Lotto – 4th Quarter - Log Cabin Blocks
- Red and Green Log Cabin Blocks
- Log Cabin Block - 14.5” Block that uses 2.5” strips

- Red/Pink blocks with half whites/creams
- Green blocks with half whites/creams
- Both will have Red center blocks
- Prints or solids
- 4th Quarter Challenge – December Swap
- Table Runner or Tote Bag - This will be swapped with another member in attendance. Must be completely finished by December meeting and wrapped for white elephant type swap.
- Virtual Sew Days for Sept.
Thursday the 8th at 6pm

- December 6, 2022 – Holiday Party & Market Fair
- 2023 Quiltcon Community Engagement Quilt
- All fabric was cut and kitted in August. Passed out all kits at meeting. Due back at October meeting.
- Ashley Lundgren and Susie Bonder will piece the top in October.
- Haley Schober has volunteered to quilt.
- Heidi Carpenter has volunteered to do the binding.
- Community Engagement Committee
- Fabric donations needed for One Common Thread workshop meeting in October
October 14th – 16th, 2022, Winterset, IA
- As of the September meeting, there is one spot left for this retreat.
April 21st – 23rd, 2023, Ashland, NE
