Petting Zoo Project:

This project was to create an animal animatronic out of a cardboard box and a servo. We first began by folding the box and taking it leaving one side open for our flaps. We then bent one flap alot in order to let it move easier. We then installed the servo and attached one of the flaps to the servo via a paper clip. After that we then used maker bot to program the servo on a continuous loop with wait time between servo positions. With that all done we then picked our design for the box, Evie and I chose to make ours into a snake. We attached our design materials via hot glue. A setback we encountered was our servo was having trouble functioning with the added weight of the cardboard flap, we fixed this by replacing the battery to give the servo more energy to lift the flap with. We also put the paperclip at an angle and decreased the theta of movement from 90o to 75o so it required less force to bring it up all the way.
