Joining a Zoom Meeting (Video Conference):

  1. You will need a computer, tablet, or smartphone with a speaker or headphones. You will have the opportunity to check your audio immediately upon joining a meeting.

  1. If you have a microphone (built-in or external), you can use your computer for audio. If not, you can call a phone number and follow the audio prompts to join the conference.

  1. You may receive notice for the Zoom Meeting in email. You may also receive the link in an online message (such as Facebook Messenger) or from a website. Click the link to join the meeting.

  1. If you have a computer, you may be asked to download a small file and click it open to install Zoom Meetings. (Look on the next page at ** for directions.) If you have a phone or tablet, you will need to download the Zoom Cloud Meetings app. (All are free)

If you don’t have a link, but have the Meeting ID:

1. If you are on a computer and have the meeting ID, you can Join the Meeting by going to the http://zoom.us website. Click on Join a Meeting.

2. Enter the Meeting ID in the box and click
   the blue join button.

3. You will see this in your browser window:

b. If you have downloaded Zoom before, your browser will display this prompt.* Click Open Zoom Meetings and Zoom will launch and take you to the meeting.

** If you have not downloaded Zoom before, your browser will display this prompt and auto-download Zoom. You should see an orange box that states to Click on the Zoom_launcher.exe download below. Please click this box and install the Zoom Launcher.

4. If your computer asks, please Launch the application.

5. Please enter your name in the box.
   You may check the box to remember
   your name, if you wish.

6. Choose your method of audio. If you use
   the computer, it will ask you to test your    
   microphone and speakers. If you use
   Phone Call, it will display phone numbers,
   the Meeting ID, and your Participant ID.

7. Once in, you will see controls at the bottom of your screen:

Using the icons in the lower left corner of the Zoom screen, you can:
• Mute/Unmute your microphone (far left)
• Turn on/off camera (“Start/Stop Video”)
• Invite other participants (if specific meeting allows)
• View Participant list – opens a pop-out screen that includes a “Raise Hand” icon that you may use to raise a virtual hand
• Change your screen name that is seen in the participant list and video window
• Share your screen

You will also see, somewhere on your Zoom screen, the ability to toggle between “speaker” and “gallery” view. “Speaker view” shows the active speaker. “Gallery view” tiles all of the meeting participants.
