Site Coordinator Agreement
Welcome to the Kids Aid Family. We are grateful you are choosing to be a partner site that utilizes Kids Aid - The Backpack Program. We are committed to doing our part in Mesa County, to alleviate childhood hunger so kids can be kids. We want to give all children the opportunity to return to the classroom on a Monday morning, only hungry to learn!
Overview
- You will be required to attend a Site Coordinator training session before participating in the Kids Aid Program.
- You will be responsible for overseeing the ordering and distribution of Kids Aid bags at your location.
- You can access flyers, forms, sign up sheets, surveys, and calendars, via our website www.kidsaidcolorado.org (scroll to the bottom, click Site Coordinators)
- We truly are a "no questions asked" program. If children are hungry, we feed them! Our intention is to be an “emergency gap-filler” for those families who may need a helping hand. There is no timeline for how long/short a family can utilize our program.
- You can order as many bags as you think you might give away at your program. Families may sign up, but are not required to, however, we intend to provide one bag per child, per weekend (18 and under)
- You do not need to give us participant names. We do not record any personal information. However, we highly recommend Site Coordinators keep track for their own records, as well as ease for passing out bags.
- If a family from your site reaches out to us, we will connect them with you.
You can expect:
- An email every Thursday at noon with the upcoming menu and a link to order bags for the next week.
- Deliveries every week, unless you cancel, or we are closed.
- Assistance placing/canceling an order.
- Our help every step of the way. We are available and willing to help make this commitment as simple as possible.
We expect:
- You are committing to be the main contact between your site and Kids Aid.
- You will fill out/update a Site Information Form before you can receive food bags.
- Please provide Kids Aid with a secondary site contact as well as make arrangements for that person to hand out bags in your absence.
- Orders must be submitted by Friday at 3pm.
- If you don’t submit a new order, you will receive the same number of bags from the previous week.
- You must enter a 0, if you don't need any the following week.
- Make sure your secondary site coordinator knows who is supposed to receive bags in your absence. Don’t let a child go hungry because you don’t share your list.
- All participating children must receive a bag, before their "weekend" starts. (If your program is Mon-Thurs, you need to make sure that bags are handed out by the end of the day on Thursday, etc.)
- You are responsible for having empty totes ready for your driver to pick up in exchange for full totes.
- Kids Aid bags are NOT to be modified in any way. Snacks are NOT to be taken out and given to children separately nor are they intended to be consumed during the school day. See the attached D51 Snack Policy. Each bag is packed with the ingredients to make complete, healthy meals for children.
