4v4 Rule Set
1. 4v4 Tournament Seeding
- FFA Points: The cumulative points earned throughout the FFA tournament will be used to determine seeding in the subsequent 4v4 tournament bracket. Higher point totals will generally lead to a more favorable seeding position, offering an advantage in the team-based competition that follows.
- Coach Points: Any participant who is also serving as a coach for a 4v4 team in the tournament will have their points from the FFA tournament excluded from seeding calculations. This rule ensures that players who are also coaches do not gain an unfair advantage in the seeding process.
- Team Color: In the 4v4 tournament, the higher-seeded team will be assigned to the Red Team, while the lower-seeded team will be assigned to the Blue Team. If both teams have the same number of points, the Red Team will be selected randomly.
2. 4v4 Tournament Format
The tournament is divided into two main stages: the Open Bracket, which takes place on Saturday, and the Championship Bracket, which takes place on the end of Saturday, and continues onto Sunday.
- Open Bracket (Saturday):
- The tournament begins with a 64-team double-elimination format.
- All matches in this stage are best-of-three (Bo3) series.
- Advancement to the Championship Bracket: 16 teams will advance from the Open Bracket to the Championship Bracket, with 8 teams advancing through the winners' bracket and 8 teams advancing through the losers' bracket.
- Championship Bracket (Sunday):
- After the Open Bracket, the top 16 teams move on to the Championship Bracket.
- In this stage, the double-elimination bracket resets, meaning all 16 teams start fresh in the winners' bracket, regardless of their previous performance.
- All matches in the Championship Bracket are best-of-five (Bo5) series.
- Seeding for the Championship Bracket:
- The 8 teams that advanced through the winners' bracket in the Open Bracket are seeded 1-8.
- The 8 teams that advanced through the losers' bracket in the Open Bracket are re-seeded as 9-16.
- Ties in seeding are broken based on the teams’ original Open Bracket seed or their FFA points.
