Welcome and Thank You from Ms. Simpson

Reviewing Our School Mission/Vision/Goals
- CEP goals will be discussed during the Town Hall meeting and are aligned to the district and the chancellor’s goals.
Health and Safety Procedures for Students, Staff and Families
- We are following the same protocols for cleaning and testing for COVID infections. Classrooms are cleaned and disinfected.
- Additional health and safety guidelines from the chancellor will be communicated to parents through DOJO.
Extended Day P. S. 201 After-School Programs Offerings and Town Hall Meetings will be shared during our Oct. SLT meeting
- We have partnerships with the Pomonok After-School Program.
- We will be partnering with the Pomonok after school program to train their staff to help support our students with these services to reduce costs. This will be for K-5 and will begin mid-October. Enrollment will be first come first served. It will run to 6:00 or 5:30PM.
- We are collaborating with GrowNYC to bring the Seed to Plate program (Grade 4)
MTSS (Multi-Tiered Student Support System)
- Tier 1 support is given by the classroom teacher to a whole class.
- Tier 2 supports: small group instruction in the classroom with the teacher
- Tier 3 Supports: S.P.I.R.E Program, Orton Gillingham Program (trained staff only)
Parent Communication and Involvement
- Parent Engagement Time is now remote. Teachers will communicate with families outside school hours for 55 minutes each week.

- Read Alouds conducted by parents
- Tea, Coffee and donuts with Simpson (starting week of October 14th)
- Parent Chats - Mid quarter check in (to address child’s current status)
- Parents are asked to make sure their NYSA account is updated with the correct phone number so that you receive information sent.
- Parent University: Parent classes will be held to help parents understand the curriculum. Attempting to bring Ged/TASC class to P.S. 201 (Test Assessing Secondary Completion) Approval Pending
