Cockroach Bait Application and Placement
Introduction:
Cockroach gel baits are an effective tool for controlling cockroach infestations. This guide provides clear and concise instructions for the proper application and placement of these baits.
Bait Selection:
- Use gel baits specifically designed for cockroaches. These baits are formulated with insecticides that are attractive to roaches and work over a delayed period, allowing roaches to consume the bait and return to their harborage areas where they contaminate other roaches.
Application and Placement:
- Apply bait in areas where cockroaches are commonly found or where you suspect activity:
- Cabinet hinges
- Underneath countertops
- On piping under sinks (kitchen and bathroom)
- In cracks and crevices
- Behind appliances (refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers)
- Along baseboards
- Application Rate:

- Apply small dots of bait, approximately 0.5 grams each, every 2 to 3 feet.
- Each bait placement should be about ½ inch in length.

- Clean up any dried or consumed bait and reapply fresh bait every 15 days.
- Increase the frequency of bait replacement if you notice high cockroach activity.

Storage:
- Store gel baits in a cool, dry environment, away from direct sunlight and heat, to maintain their effectiveness.
Safety Precautions:
- Keep baits out of reach of children and pets.
- Wash hands thoroughly after handling baits.
