  • weekly admin meeting with counselors present to review attendance by grade level

  • define roles for counselors, grade level AP, and teachers
  • results of actions will be shared at the following meeting

coordinate tiered interventions for chronically absent students

work with the attendance contact to follow up on daily attendance concerns

attendance team meetings will be designed with grade level counselor

monitor grade-level attendance data

meet with students and families to understand root causes

provide social-emotional support

implement small group or individual interventions targeting attendance barriers

work with grade level AP to coordinate SARC meetings

 celebrations for improved attendance

 

 

Build strong classroom relationships

Implement positive reinforcement strategies to encourage regular attendance

Document contact made via phone call, ParentSquare, etc. after 2 consecutive absences

Record contact in Synergy

Parent Instructional Coordinator will provide workshops for attendance for families with history of chronic absences

each student will  have visual attendance chart to track daily attendance

discuss attendance weekly during SEL meetings

students nominate classmates for shout-outs during Friday announcements if they’ve improved their attendance or encouraged someone else to increase their attendance

attendance video campaign:

Students create short, fun videos about why coming to school matters and how it affects their learning and friendships which will be shown twice a month on Wellness Wednesdays
