Erin Gruwell starts at a new school that has one class that doesn’t have a good record. The whole class is divided up into different groups and they all hate each other for different purposes. Erin tries to act nice and teach them how she thought she had to but that didn’t end out well and basically every class the kids started fights. But then Erin tried a different way to learn and found out that all of them had troubled backgrounds and that they all wanted to learn but the teachers didn’t teach them they way they wanted to be taught. After she found that out they started to learn because she was teaching them in a fun way. The teenagers started to respect Erin more and that allowed them to learn. Once they learned that they were not going to be taught by her anymore the whole class put up a fight because they felt that all the other teachers didn’t respect them the way that Erin did.

I personally liked the film because it teaches you that you can’t just judge a book by its cover, you have to read it before you can make a judgement. And that is what all the teachers did until Mrs G came in. The movie teaches you what goes down in lots of people's lives and how they act towards it. It also teaches you about racial activity that goes down in the world and how some people act towards it and how other people try to fix it. The movie is a great way to show people what goes down in the world and how some people change it for the better or for the worse. I would rate this movie an 8/10 and recommend it for other people to watch.

The way the movie relates to the book is that at the start everyone is judged on their appearance and that is how they would be treated through school and their life. But not a lot of people would treat them the same way they treat people that they know. And then they would start to be treated like aliens and not like humans. But then after awhile of getting to know the person or people they would be accepted into the group and they would no longer be treated as aliens but as humans.
