Tips for Using Photoshop in the Citrix Receiver

Change Setting to fix bug of black screen when cropping and other editing tools:

Open Photoshop, then go to the Edit menu - Preferences - Performance.

Uncheck “Use Graphics Processor” on bottom right and click OK.

Click on the File menu and choose Exit to quit Photoshop completely.

Open Photoshop again and you are ready to work.

You shouldn’t have to do this again unless you see a problem with the black screen.

Uploading pictures to the server drive to use in Photoshop:

Photoshop is using your personal hard drive space on the Citrix server to save and open files from. You can move files between the Citrix server hard drive and your Google Drive or a USB drive.

Hover over the black and white half moon icon at the top middle of your screen.

Click the citrix circle that it turns into and you will see more options.

Click on the upload button (cloud with up arrow).

You can upload from your Google Drive or direct from a USB drive or memory card.

Select the files to upload and click OPEN.

Downloading pictures/files from the Citrix server to your Google Drive or a USB.

While in the app or in File Explorer:

Hover over the black and white half moon icon at the top middle of your screen.

Click the citrix circle that it turns into and you will see more options.

Click on the download button (cloud with down arrow).

You can download to your Google Drive.

Select the files to download and click OPEN. A window will popup with the downloading status.

Quitting out of Photoshop

Make sure to go to File - Exit when you are done using Photoshop and then logout of the Citrix Receiver by clicking the arrow next to your username in the top right of the window.

You can also use the File Explorer app to view your files on the Citrix hard drive.

To Eject an external drive from the Chromebook:

Open the Files app and click the eject button next to the name of the external drive.
